@ DCO--as far as character creation goes, I think the best way to do it is the 22 point allotment method. A lot fairer and more balanced, IMO.

Nah. I really prefer the straight roll of 6. If the first attempt is horribly low I just start over. I'll take the 8 and 9's because I get two 14's and an 18.

Well you should see how your DM wants you to generate stats.

As for the others. I might be able to get you a pdf copy of a PhB if you shoot me a PM. I couldn't get the DMG and MM, but the PhB is a start.

Hey guys. Stepper said he's planning on running Keep on the shadowfell, which I'm already playing with my local group, so I told him I'll probably have to bow out. I said that if he needs a final person I suppose I could make a character that's either really quiet/shy or really dumb to help me not act on prior knowledge

Hrm...I also am playing Keep on the Shadowfell with a weekly group (one week in). I have no problems roleplaying a complete lack of knowledge, but only if Stepp would be comfortable with that.

Whoa been a while since I checked this thread. I am gonna bow out of it so you can take my name down from the front page.
I don't think I can capture the fun I had playing DnD in my youth. Those are some great memory's of Log cabins, Camp fires and D20's. I think if I am gonna get back into it I need to find a local group. I hope everyone has fun

It'd help me read a whole lot less. This edition is pretty overwhelming.

I'm currently leaning toward Warlord or Cleric. But I need to know if the other players are using those classes or not. Or, if those types of characters are already in the party.

I like filling holes and balancing parties. I'm too indecisive otherwise.
