whats you take on banning figures at a venue and why?
Not in favor of it. I wish I was, because then I could make Nightcrawler go away so I can stop being bored to tears by him, but banning game elements is reactionary and doesn't solve the problem that some people are cheese monkeys and will find a way to make the game un-fun no matter what tools they're given.
In a game where balance is more important I would advocate that Wizkids ban some things, but high-level play isn't that important to the way Heroclix works, so they have no obligation to try to regulate it into being diverse enough to be interesting. I would never advocate that venues do it on their own because it's confusing and easily abused.

There is a difference between banning and build design. banning means you are NEVER allowed to play that figure, build design prevents them for that one event.
Been checking out this seller named Jspassnthru on the eBay. Lots of cool custom dice. No comic themes but plenty of animals(chimps), holidays, and cool designs. Just bought a black pair with gold pips. There is a golden pistol on the ace side.
These are one of my all-time favorite sellers all-time on Ebay! Cheryl and Lee seem to be an older couple out of California who really enjoy their Ebay shop. You can also look through their collection and do a custom order, their prices have always been fair! I have ordered a bunch of dice from them.
These guys are highly recommended by this frog...

Do they make custom dice, made to order? Do they worry about little things like copyright laws?

We generally won't let Starro come out and play. That doesn't stop this one jerk at our venue from trying to run him whenever the point total is high enough.

I've never asked. They sell dice as opposed to make dice. They do have some of their own custom dice but all the images are very generic.
It seems getting custom dice made doesn't seem to pose too many obstacles as long as you're not getting into anything obviously copyrighted and you're willing to buy enough.
I know I have a link saved under my bookmarks and have been wanting to get it done- I think I will at some point just to say I did it once.

Remember when I asked how much Massu's celebrity was worth?
It looks like we're only about fifteen minutes from finding out!

On the subject of Superman set misses as in "missing"...I have to put Jimmy Olsen at the top of my list, though Krypto is close behind.
After those two, I'd put Ultraman on the list (not to be confused with on "the list"). I'm really surprised more folks didn't complain about that, tho' admittedly, maybe they did but I just didn't see it 'cause of how I navigate the HCR waters (reminder: don't leave the boat!).
Also worthy in my mind: Atomic Skull (either version), Mon-El, Golden Age Prankster and -- yes! -- Beppo the Super-Monkey.
If the set had been large enough to justify a slot for him: Bibbo Bibbowski.
Tim Burton was right: "A square jaw does not a Batman make." Steve Buscemi as the next Batman! Luke Perry as Joker! Let's make it happen!
The single thing that gives me that impression more than anything else is your tendency to call things by weird derogatory names like "Disgracebook" and "Hyperslime". It absolutely makes me think "grumpy old man", every single time.
There are times when grumpy old man is true and applicable.
But those aren't really meant that way. (Okay, the Disgracebook one is!) It's supposed to just be playful fun.
I love to eat at Binger King despite my name for it. I've even been known to eat at Taco Hell before Chipotle showed up. (Toxic Smell, Toxic Hell) McDogfood I mean from the bottom of my black little heart. Seriously, I sometimes get a "taste" for it or I'm desperate and it's the only thing around; but I always regret getting SickDonald's after just a few bites.
I've lived in several towns like Highbrow Park that I have fun names for and I wouldn't hesitate to move to Rolling Ghettos.
I think I have a blog page with all the HeroClix related ones if you want to make your venue a much more interesting place.
