Dunno, guys. I think that Plot #1 adheres to the blurb theme better. I give it my vote.
That having been said, I loved the Jungle Book references in Plot #2.
They were both most worthy offerings, but the vote stays with Plot #1.

Venus is a tropical planet with jungles, dinosaurs and lizard men. Haven't you ever read any reputable astronomy books?
Yes, but I don't remember dinosaurs and lizard men in the Jungle Book - unless the Disney adaptation was for once less historically accurate than the source material.

The Jungle Book references started me thinking about the next set of story ideas I'll be giving you guys and I wrote a largely incoherent post because of this.
Anyways, I think we'll move on from historical figures in SF/fantasy situations to literary figures in the same situations. Huck and Jim; Mowgli and Baloo; Long John Silver; The Count of Monte Cristo; etc.
I tried to PM him to make sure he was aware it's time to vote, but his PM box is full. Apparently, minions of Dr. Doom are not given additional memory space for such things by their supposedly brilliant leader.
