As Walter Newell; Stingray, tended to Hydrobase, Shield agents arrived to help man Hydrobase along with some others.

A man stepped out of the Shield flivver along with three others and extended his hand. "Hello, I'm Dane Dorrance and these are my Sea Devils."

Dane Dorrance soon informed Stingray of the threat posed by Cthulhu and his Deep Ones.

Day 49: Late Evening; In a replicated Markovia, in an alternate reality.

Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu and nearly all other martial arts was in a battle of wits and will with his old enemy, Shen Kuie the Cat. The absence of so many heroes and villains had emboldened Shen Kuie into making his own moves to take over as an international power broker and Shang-Chi was trying to stop him.

As usual, both Chi and Shen Kuie are unable to overcome each other but when Shang-Chi evades a spinning kick from the Cat, he inadvertently becomes engulfed in a rift in reality.

John Walker; U.S. Agent, had once again thrown himself into Captain America's role, in Cap's absence. U.S. Agent was going after Dr. Octopus, who was having a great time in the absence of Spiderman and the many missing supervillains.


U.S. Agent was confronting Doc Ock wnen Octopus slipped his arms past the shield and knocked the U.S. Agent back into a rift in reality.

Namorita found herself resurrected after the bomb blast that took her life.


The first she noticed were two figures in similar costumes embracing each other while two rifts in reality opened disgorging the U.S. Agent and some Asian fellow in pajamas.

Baron Heinrich Zemo found himself resurrected and when he realized that he was once again alive, he looked up to see another dressed very similarly to himself. Enraged that someone was mocking him, Heinrich challenged his doppleganger in angry German epithets.

Helmut Zemo, was of a like mind when he saw the other but recognized his father's voice and the older variation of his costume that he was wearing. When the other lunged at him, Helmut grappled with his father and managed to overpower him and began to tell Heinrich who he was.

After relating a memory only the two of them could possibly know, Heinrich and his son embraced.

Shang-Chi landed gracefully after falling through the rift. He looked up, saw the U.S. Agent arrive in a similar fashion while Namorita seemed to be materializing and not one but two Baron Zemos who seemed to be having a tender moment.

U.S. Agent saw the two Zemos and didn't care one whit about any tender moments. All he saw were two enemies of the state and reacted accordingly by attacking them.

The two Zemos barely evaded the attack.

Namorita also recognized the Zemos as a threat and between the two they quickly disarmed and subdued both Zemos.

The Vision had been waiting for all of this and when the U.S. Agent and Namorita, he emerged from the tree he'd sequestered himself in ready to take both Zemos into custody and leave with everyone before Doom and Terra found them out.

Unfortunately, it was too late as Doom and Kang suspected this would happen.

All of the aforementioned heroes and two villains found themselves surrounded by Dr. Doom, Kang, Crossbones, the Living Laser, the Grim Reaper, Molecule Man, Taskmaster and Terra.

"So! Vision!" exclaimed Dr. Doom, "You ignore our sovereign rights and trespass further in Markovia! Terra! As regent of Markovia, erstwhile ally of the state of Latveria, what do you propose we do with these interlopers?"

"I detest spies and infiltrators Dr. Doom. I say we execute all of them."

"Indeed, dear Terra? That's a bit harsh don't you think?"

Just then, Hank Pym brought all the Avengers and Teen Titans to full size minus Tigra who had been the only Avenger that flew back with the newly arrived heroes that were sent home. She had been replaced by Hawkeye along with Starfox who had insisted on staying with their teammates.

While the Vision made a big show of hiding in the tree to distract anyone observing, Pym shrank everyone to microscopic size except Quicksilver who was shrunk to ant size and carried the rest to a vantage point where they could wait for the next arrivals along with the Vision.

Doom knew he was back to square one.

They were at another impasse.

The bottom line was that the Teen Titans did not want to leave without confronting Terra.

The Avengers; of whom the U.S. Agent considered himself one, wanted it to be clear that they would have nothing to do with abandoning any possible new arrivals to be abused by Dr. Doom, Kang or any other of Doom's allies.

As the heroes and the villains stood each other in a standoff, The Midnight Rambler (agent of the mysterious entity that was kidnapping everyone to this reality), slipped in and stealthily slipped out with the two Zemos.

He promptly delivered them to Berlin, which headquartered Torquemada; who was the reincarnation of Adolph Hitler, Arnim Zola, Baron Strucker, Natalia Kassle, Major Maxim (rebuilt after a disastrous encounter with a certain monster) and the Stix brothers, which were an army of clones.

Viper; alias Madame Hydra, was in intense negotiations to engineer an alliance between them and the third reich.

When the two Zemos arrived, they wasted no time expressing their allegiance. Though they each harbored ambitions that would put a Zemo in charge eventually.

Dr. Doom and Kang surveyed the forces arrayed against them and thought about what they might have to worry about. even though they had an extremely deadly weapon in Molecule Man, Starfox already proved, he could neutralize that.

Doom and Kang needed time to counter Starfox's power and ordinarily, time was all that Kang had but in this reality, Kang was under bizarre limitations. He could not go further back then 49 days and if he tried to go forward in time, he went directly to his timeless fortress.

Angrily, they capitulated to the heroes.

"Hold on!" Pym shouted. "Just one more thing!" Pym couldn't resist imitating Peter Falk.

Doom turned.

Blazing Skull and the Patriot tell us of Lionheart, who appeared with them but disappeared. Know anything about that?"

"Why do you ask?"

"They say that she left in the direction of Latveria. Odds are she didn't realize she was entering your country. We'd consider it a personal favor if you returned her."

There was a silent pause as pregnant as a mother of triplets. Finally, Doom gave a harsh laugh and agreed to deliver her.

The heroes promised to wait.

When they were finally released from their debriefing, Hulkling, Patriot and Wiccan settled into the Young Avengers headquarters, None of the Avengers seemed to know of them. Stature promised to join them eventually but was whisked off to Hub City to see her father.

"Cassie! you're much older!"

Cassie Lang ran into her father's arms, ecstatic to find him alive.

Wiccan had barely reunited with Hulkling before Dr. Strange commandeered him and recruited him into the mystic war by bringing Wiccan to the Oblivion Bar and introducing Wiccan to the others and siting threats posed by Nightmare, Umar and others, especially C'Thuhu!

Blazing Skull, Union Jack, Spitfire, Thin Man, Toro and Bucky were delivered to the Easy Company base to loin Captain America, Blackhawk and Sgt Rock. Winter Soldier begged to go with them and after a private meeting with Nick Fury, it was agreed upon.

Darkhawk was united with Night Thrasher and Justice.

Yondu was sent to Smallville and Legion headquarters where Vance Astro and Aleta were hanging out.

Joey Chapman and Lionheart went to London to reinforce the Black Knight, Sersi and Captain Britain.

Spitfire and the Brian Falsworth Union Jack joined Cap in Europe.
