Shazam to break from the Swarm? Rolls 1. Best chance is to try for a good Regen roll. Gets 4. At least they can't Poison him now.
Guess it's as good a time as any to bring Grundy back. He can start in any square of Hindering, so N16 will do. Can he attack the Infiltrator? Skrull roll is 1. AV9 on DV15. Gets 5. Grundy!!!
Ant-Man converts to Goliath. He goes for Grundy. Needs 6, rolls 6. 4 to him.
In comes a Giant Ant chomping on Grundy. Needs 6, rolls 3.
Saboteur ee on Joker. Needs 5, rolls 9. Joker's out. 2 ee damage to Hawkman.
I made an error. I've drafted Thor at R level and costs but he did E level damage (his ee/penetrating clicks are at the end of his 100 point dial). To be fair, I'll upgrade to the E and pay the cost points-wise. Few characters deserve devoting 200 points to in this game more than Thor but if I'd noticed I'd have made other considerations. He moves to K14.
Egghead's in trouble, can he break? 3. Needs 9 to hit Hawkman then, gets 6.
Infiltrator barriers over Joker.

Grundy pushes to use his CCE on Goliath for a +1/+1. AV10 on DV17. Rolls 10. 3 to Goliath after Toughness is a KO. The Push and the Steal Energy Cancel out.
Hawkman CCE on Egghead, AV10 on DV16. Rolls 7. 4 to Eggy.
Shade on Miss America, AV10 on DV16. Gets 4.
One more Golden Ager I think before I move on. Black Canary. Another character whose staying power has been remarkable. All the good versions are more Modern Age in design, but they'll have to do. I will use SOG41. She Charges to T18, attacks Miss A., AV9 on DV16. Gets 5.
Can Green Arrow beak? Gets 5. Goes to T15

"That's okay. Get big. Just easier for me to hit you that way," Solomon Grundy said, grabbing Goliath's foot and pulling it out from under him. Unbalanced, Pym crashed to the ground. Grundy threw a couple of heavy crates at him, and that was all it took to knock him out cold.
"Egghead is it? Well, I'm in the mood for an omelet, and you know what they say about making an omelet," Hawkman said. "And that's two down."
"Let's go for three, shall we?" Black Canary said, moving in to fight Miss America. "Make a break for it Arrow. You're better shooting your arrows than in a hand-to-hand fight."
"Yes'm," Green Arrow agreed, letting Black Canary keep Miss America busy, though they seemed to be evenly matched, sparring, but neither managing to land a good blow. And if Green Arrow's gaze seemed to linger a bit on Black Canary's stockinged legs, well...
"Guess you won't be getting your three," Miss America told her.
"Give me a minute. I'm just getting warmed up," Black Canary said.
I'll miss Goliath, he was pretty fun. With him and Egghead gone that's two to replace.
Thor on Shazam. Needs 5, rolls 8. He takes 2.
Vulture charges to Q12 to finish Shazam. Needs 5, rolls 7. He's out.
Ant Swarm to R12 to block.
Two familiar faces coming up----Iron Man and Magneto. For the former, well, there are few options for playing the old 'Tin Can' version of him. For the latter, I could probably use the tk and he's more iconic than the Wizard.
Iron Man rs to G17 going for the Grund. Needs 6 + 1, rolls 5.
Iron Man outwits Grundy's invulnerable.
Magneto to I14.
Giant ant on Grundy. Needs 6, rolls 9. BCF is 1. Grrr. 1 to him.
Miss A has no choice but to go for Canary. Needs 9, rolls, in typical form, 3.
So I'm in 1963 and you're in the late 40s....we're both at 1400 points-ish. Is 3k enough to get us to 1980?

"It looks like a good time for Iron Man to come on board. I'm glad Tony Stark let me free from my typical bodyguard duties," Iron Man says missing his hit on Grundy.
"Yeah, poor you. Having to hang out with the jet-setters and beautiful people drinking smart cocktails and discussing which investment made more money," the Vulture says hit Captain Marvel, "Your ilk made me sick."
"You don't know the half of it," Iron Man says.
In the background Magneto watches Thor finish Captain Marvel.
"Well done," he says to himself, "By all means, take down our foes. Make the world I will take from you safe for mutantkind."

I would say so. It is for me anyway. It was always my plan to spend about half my time in Golden, since so many of the iconic characters are from then. So I'm more or less on schedule. I'm going to leave out characters, sure. Theoretically and character in the comics could be in this game (or the next one) so choices need to be made. I have also been enjoying the inclination to find cheaper versions of figures to play to make it fit. I think that's part of what's made this game such fun (and this has been a game I have been having a lot of fun with). If you feel like you are really going to need a couple hundred more points to get in your must-plays, I can always add more characters. That's easy. So up to you. Let me know what you think.
I hinted that Black Canary might be the end of Golden Age for me, but a few times in the last few turns, I've wished I had some PC, so one more villain in Per Degaton.
Degaton shoots at Miss America, AV10 on DV16. Gets 6. 2 to her.
Hawkman Charges to P15, attacks the Giant Ant, AV10 on DV17. And Per Degaton's PC doesn't help if he's out of range.

"Sloppy," Per Degaton said as Hawkman was driven off by the vicious mandibles of the giant ant. "This is what happens when you leave things to the heroes. They are not ruthless enough." He took out a pistol and simply shot Miss America.
"Ah good," the Shade said. "Another member of the criminal brotherhood. I was afraid being surrounded by all these heroes would start turning me into some sort of sympathetic, ambiguous anti-hero."
I think I will need more. The 1960s have the most important figures but I started in the 70s, for me that was even more influential. And those figures will start getting more expensive. 3500 isn't boosting too much, is it?
Miss America turns off her wp and lc to T14, she's out.
In comes Dr. Octopus. I've always liked the Clobberin' Time figures, the Vet will do. Needs 5 to hit Arrow, gets 11. 2 to Arrow.
Saboteur on Canary. Needs 7, rolls 7. 2 to her.
