Cave Carson and his crew were helpless in the hands of the Awesome Android. Everytime someone tried to defend themselves the Android shook the mighty Mole until Cave Carson ordered every one to remain still so that no one became seriously hurt.

Surtur was finally tiring of battling Galactus. He was getting nowhere.

Without warning, Surtur fled back to Muspelheim to regroup.

Galactus had supped enough of Surtur's energy to remain sated for at least a week.

Day 64: Evening; in a replicated Paris in an an alternate reality.

Max Mercury had been wondering what had happened to Wally West. Now he thought he knew.

When the rift appeared he willingly accepted it.

Extant looked around. This was not the Extant that had plagued the JSA and met his end at the hands of Atom Smasher. This was an alternate reality Extant who's identity was unknown to the standard DC universe. This was an Extant from a universe where he had achieved his goals and in so doing ruled Earth with an iron grip.

Now he had been removed from that reality to this one where he was forced to start over.

Irritated he used his time travel powers to return to the future and found himself facing the Time Trapper, Kang the Conqueror, Immortus, Abra Kadabra, Chronos, the Fatal Five and the Legion of Supervillains.

Extant was no match for all of them and was forced to join them or die. Extant agreed to join them.

Max Mercury emerged from the rift in time to see Extant from behind before the latter blipped out as he left for the future.

Max Mercury assessed the situation. he saw that the sun was setting and he saw that there before him was the Eiffel Tower. Having lived through multiple eras he recognized that he was in World War II era Paris.

Max Mercury did not know about Extant or he would have assumed that Extant was the force behind the several kidnappings. Particularly because he assumed he had been brought back in time. At the moment, Extant was just a mystery man Max would want to investigate.

Max decided to explore the city and see what he could learn about his situation and maybe take down a few Nazis while he was at it.

As the sun began to set, Baron Blood began to awaken and prepared to return to the night. He could only hope that the Punisher still stalked the streets of Paris so that Baron Blood could sup on his blood.

Arnim Zola delivered the trapped Fire to Barons Strucker and Zemo.

Firing at Beatriz once again he dissolved the casing he had developed. Fire collapsed and returned to her human form.

The bandaged Tara Olafsdottir was also brought before the two Barons.
Ice's head injury made it difficult for her to focus enough to summon her powers. She gasped when she saw her best friend in such a weakened state. Although her head throbbed Ice fell to the floor to try to comfort her weakened friend.

Zemo spoke; "Ach! You know each other then? Sehr Gut! Please! Introduce yourselves so that we might know you as well."

Fire glared at them. "We are Fire and Ice of the Justice League of America. We have very powerful friends. It would be better if you released us."

Strucker spoke. " Fire and Ice? Ah, you conjure up visions of Armageddon with those names. But you! The one called Ice, you have strong Nordic features! A very comely woman! Yet your companion called Fire, it is clear she has the blood of a mongrel. Why do you debase yourself with such a lowly animal?" Strucker stepped forward and hauled Beatriz to her feet only to slap her down again. An enraged Beatriz found the strength to transform again but was shot immediately by Arnim Zola and encased again. The casing drained her power fully and she was helpless.

Ice responded, still too busy to focus her own powers. "Stop that! Do not harm her! She's my friend."

Strucker laughed. "You are scarcely in a position to make demands female. Beware or you will be declared a traitor to the master race and you will be forced to service the troops as your s*** companion will soon be doing. Renounce your companion and I shall bring you before the Fuehrer where you might be treated as befits a queen."

Ice spat at him which angered Strucker and he struck Tara down too.

The Punisher was engaged in guerrilla warfare against several Stix Brothers.

He was racing between buildings and firing at the enemy wherever they appeared. The Stix Brothers had ray guns. so he had to be extra careful but he was a better shot then they were.

He had to be careful about his cover though because the ray guns often disintegrated his protection. Walls obliterated with one concentrated shot.

He'd killed three already. How many more there were, he wasn't sure.

The three Amazons found themselves fighting ten Major Maxim robots.

The odds were daunting.

Longshot returned to the war van to find it swarmed by Nazi soldiers trying to force the doors open. Some one was just about to apply plastic explosive as he arrived. There was no sign of Fire or the three Amazons. He could hear weapons fire nearby and had to assume that was Frank Castle engaged in battle.

Longshot had no choice but to take on the Nazis alone before they managed to damage the war van.

Max Mercury raced through the streets of Paris and encountered the three Amazons battling the Major Maxim robots. He lent his speed to aid the women. It was clear to Max who the villains were here though he wondered at the presence of Amazons in Vichy France in the heart of Paris.

With his help, the Amazons easily dismantled the Major Maxim robots.

Extant was introduced to everyone. None of the villains he was meeting were anyone he'd heard of except Chronos and Abra Kadabra whom he had a slight knowledge of before he embarked on his own criminal career.

He soon learned that he was expected to do the same thing the other time villains were tasked to do. Find and eliminate Rip Hunter before he crimped their plans. He was allowed to use whoever he chose from the Fatal Five, Chronos, Abra Kadabra or the Legion of Supervillains to help him achieve that end.

After Max helped subdue the Major Maxim robots the three Amazons introduced themselves and told them what they knew.

He found their story about the other heroes from an alternate universe curious so he decided to see for himself who they were. It was interesting that he was not in the past like he had originally thought. Max suggested that the Amazons return to the Punisher's war van while he sought out the Punisher who he was certain would be easy to find judging from the noise.

Max found the Punisher and easily evaded his weapon fire. He sought out what was left of Frank's opponents and snapped the necks of five Stix Brothers. He had no regrets about what he'd done because it was obvious they were ruthless killers with no regard for the consequences of their actions. He stopped one Stix Brother before he shot an old man trying to flee the carnage. Max also saw that the Stix Brothers were futuristic clones. Equally out of place in this setting as he, the Amazons, the Punisher and the robots he'd helped defeat were.

The Amazons had told Max about Fire. Max Mercury had never met her but he knew about her and he decided to focus a search for her. He suggested the Punisher return to his war van and Max would help him get fuel. Frank was a little reluctant but knew it made sense.

Frank was a loner. Had been ever since his family had been murdered. It took him a long time to get used to Longshot and only because Longshot's amazing luck had won Frank over. Now Frank was having to get used to several new additions and it was hard for Frank to take. So Frank resented Max Mercury ordering him around a bit.
