Nope. The damage values on the Mechs are pretty good and the +1 helps alot. Also, the JF Mechs have way great heat dials. It would be a very short chance.
Originally posted by invader zim AsburyGrad what my 1st statement meant about Ruthlessness and ZB is since Liao, Jade Falcon and Sea Fox are the only factions with U's and Le's with a rank chevron's on their bases. our U's/Le's units are the only ones affected by our faction abilities while Geoff Bekker remains safe.
Also since I learned along time ago that Awe is a harsh and fickle mistress for Liao it has been along time since i made an army just for Awe. So I think my elite units will be just fine.
i thought WK FAQed that when it comes to Ruthlessness, Uniques and LEs are treat as such for game play purposes whether or not they have chevrons? can someone enlighten me?

You'd think that, but you'd be wrong!!!! Here's why... Turn one, I drop a Fa'Shih on arnis and run my JF mech within DFA range. Now, if Arnis fails his break, he's in big trouble... Wanna know why? Turn two, I DFA Arnis in the rear arc.. Sure, he only takes one damage, but I don't take any and now Arnis has to waste a turn just turning to face me. Meanwhile I'm lining up the shot...
It's not perfect, but you get the point. CJF isn't going to be easy to play, with their lowered defenses and all, but they sure will be interesting!!!

Example, in Fortress of Lies the author makes a pain staking effort to explain WHY mechs are so few, you need tanks, and WHY mechs can be killed by virtually anything else.
I hate to break it to you, but this has always been the case. Tanks have always greatly outnumbered mechs. And while no tank, one on one, is a match for a mech of equal size, when you can buy 4 tanks for the price of one mech, the numbers quickly add up. This is especially the case for dedicated mech hunters, such as the Demolisher. Battle armored infantry are also extremely dangerous to mechs in ambush situations. If a platoons of BA gets in a position where they can swarm you, that mech is going down.

Its easy to see how this tactic will best an agility mech like Arnis. How about the non-agility mechs? This tactic will be devastating. Most mechs will be forced into the charge first, ask questions later mode. Getting into JJ range of these Falcon's will be suicidal.
The main advantage of 'Mechs was for raids. With 12 Warriors and 12 'Mechs you needed only one fairly small Dropship. They could inflict more damage and were more mobile in a campaign than the defenders.
Unfortunately if you restrict mobility (like DA does by default) and ignore the manoeuver aspect then 'Mechs get brought down to Earth.
Sure BloddBrother X let me enlighten you :)
Straight out of the June 15th Faq page 18
If a unit Has No Chevron Printed on its Base, for purposes of game play its rank is Unique. Is does not count twords any other rank for game play purposes.
So that means ^^^ Locust is a ZB legal target
Liao Le ^^^ Hellstar is a legal ZB target
SW Unique Kodiak no chevrons but way more powewrfull than said elite locust not a legal ZB target
Liao Le ^ Griffen Not a ZB legal target.
This is why the Jade Falcon Faction Abiltiy that is ZB is so weak and not very playable it makes them chase after useless elite units while the Bounty Hunter, Arnis Drummand, and any non Liao and Sea Fox Uniques/ Le's free to tear them a new cornhole
I mean honestly which on of these units would a Clan Jade Falcon Warrior find more of a true test of his skill and courage
DF Bounty Hunter and his Marauder II or
SC Elite Tamerlane Strike Sled
There use to be a Target Higherachy for clan warriors it was based on preferd targets
1.Mech heavier than yours
2.Mech same weight
3.Mech lighter thasn yours
4.Tank
5.Light combat vehicles
6.Infantry

Only problem with the highlighted part tony is that YOU DONT GET A REAR ARCH BONUS FOR DFA!
Im sorry folks but a unique is a unique. If it has chevrons on it that says its an elite then well its a ZB Target. if it has no chevrons on it (Lets use rikkard nova cat for example.) Even though the fluff says its an elite unit if it has no chevrons no ZB or ruthlessness.
