I am playing in a open unresticted constructed tournament this weekend with a 400 pt. build total, and all members of the team must share the same team symbol (i.e. all Avengers or X-Men, or JLA, etc.). I need some help creating my team. I have gone through my collection and have found which factions I have enough members to build a team within the parameters, but I can't decide. Here is what I have:

With all theme teams, TK is everything. And that means X-MEN. Also, you have the ability to push a flier and trade damage to a character you may want to PUSH to a better click.

Otherwise , you could always try the Supersonic team and play your JSA...Use Black Adam and Shazam to go after Perplexer and Outwits first (and make sure to position on the blind side of other attacks). Then the 2 of them can pound the #### out of the major attack piece. Also throw in the E Doctor Fate if he fits (pointswise) for Psychic blast. Otherwise, through in cheaper pieces to base characters so your 2 major pieces can take out the support first.

No love for Brotherhood? I have a 510 tourney coming up and was leaning towards them. Our tourny is differnt in that the team abilities have been altered to make usually unplayed teams more attractive.

But back to you!

To me it looks like your best bets are X-Men and Avengers. Those seem to be your biggest teams and offer the most options.

For an X related team, I would start with Vet Jean Grey. Yes she is expensive, but she, Dr. Strange and Raven are usually the only support in these kinds of games. Give her a cheap bodyguard to give her back clicks after she pushes. I like Wolvesbane for this role, but a lot of people also pick BoomBoom. You could use Cyclops as your gun. I then usually go for mobility on my fighters. I would pick Nightcrawler, Berserker Wolvie, Beast and/or Archangel as charging fighters. Pick support powers as you see fit. Psylocke is an obvious choice to backup Cyke. I like Iceman for barrier and Gambit for perplex. Shadowcat is a nice taxi on indoor maps. Captain Britain is a fantastic brick. Easily the best the X-men have (poor Colossus). Sadly he lacks charge on his Exp, but Jean Grey's TK might make up for that.

Not enough Brotherhood pieces or I would include them (darn mailing mix up sent me a premier Hellboy comic instead of LE Xorn).

Black Adam and Shazam! are AEs Vevillaughs... And I agree that your X-men will be the most useful in tournament play since in all games TK is key for a win. TK Captain Marvel with a Heavy for some big damage and use V Cyclops for a secondary attacker and some nice range.

No. They all have to have the same team ability, no wild cards allowed. Otherwise, I would throw in a medic/con artist (only one mind you) and Black Cat
