X-Men #1

Five and a half years ago, Charles Xavier, a mutant, had a vision. He formed the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters with the intent of training young mutants to control their powers, and to always fight on the side of right. His vision was that someday, mutants and humans may be able to live together in peace and harmony. The first step to realizing that vision may be…the X-Men.

“The key to our success is in proving that we’re out to aid mankind,” Emma Frost, the new leader of the X-Men explained. “Rather than mutants solely fighting other mutants, we need to fight normal criminals, and show the world that we’re just as heroic as Iron Man or Captain America.”
“The Brotherhood were criminals,” Cyclops said.
“Yes, but they were also mutants. If people see mutants fighting other mutants, then either way, mutants are the bad guys. But if we mutants fight human criminals, then we can be seen by the masses as heroes.
“On that note, the Sinister Syndicate has had an increased presence in the city lately. They’ve padded their ranks by hiring other supervillains to aid them. They’ve been pulling off some robberies of technological equipment that would lead us to believe they may be planning to build some sort of device that will aid them in whatever evil plot they have in mind. With Dr. Octavius among their ranks, they certainly possess the fortitude to do so. I’ve contacted Professor Eric Donaldson of the Billings Institute. He says he has a lead on what the Syndicate might be trying to build. Cyclops, I want you to take a team and find out what he has to say.”

Later, as the squad of X-Men neared the Professor’s home…
“I wonder why Emma wanted a whole team to come down here,” Cyclops wondered aloud.
“I think I’m startin’ ta get an idea,” Captain Britain said with his thick accent. He lifted Beast up so he could take a look over the house.
“Oh, my stars and garters!” Beast said. “The Sinister Syndicate, live and in person!”
“Half of it, at least,” Cylops said, as he got his look. “They’ve got some mercenaries with them. I guess they’re here for the same reason we are. X-Men, let’s get them!”

Roll for initiative and which side you’re on as in a normal game. The map is OAP 1 on Creation Matrix. At the end of the game, victory points are calculated as normal; if the villains win, they’ve kidnapped the Professor. Other than that, a simple brawl.

Logan looked around and said "how does she do this"

Beast- "well shes a strong telepath"

"look bub, i know that, but how does she see them and know what they can do"

Capt Britain- "shes using shiar technology on the blackbird hovering overhead with jean flying it...she has a tactical computer grid of the battle field... and shes reading their minds...so we have some insight."

Cyclops- "well whatever, lets get on with this...i want to try out my new visor controls"

Logan- "I agree slim...im itchin to get in there and get this fracas going...."

Beast- "most certainly"

oh and click on game boards from there. the rest you'll be able to figure out. I printed them all and make pencil annotations of where everyone is...easy to do. I have a PBP binder with all of my current games in it.

"So um, why are we here again?" the large man spoke rather slowly.

The overweight scientist sighed heavily. "You numskull. I'll explained it once again, the Owl said that the X-Men are going to target our group for some kind of mutant PR stunt. We're here to get something that to hold over that little group to allow us to do what ever we want."

"I still don't know if we should trust the Owl," said a voice from above said. "How are we suppose to trust his 'contacts' information when he won't even tell us where it comes from."

"This has been a plan of the Owl's for some time now. Capture someone dear to each team of heroes and use them to get our way with crimes. I have to admit, it is quite devilish in it's simplicity" Octavius said chuckling to himself at the end.

The Rhino just scratched his head again. "But isn't this Doctor some kind of mind reader or some junk like that?"

"He is a Professor," the doctor snapped back at him, "And do not worry yourself, we have come prepared."

"Don't worry Rhino, nobody is expecting you to think on this mission." A rather young man quipped. He learned the error in his action as a large grey hand clasped around his neck striping the air from his lungs.

"You're not gonna make fun of me Joey!"

A metal arm snaked around the Rhino's, "Now that is enough. Even Joey the Snake has a part in Owls plan."

"Great! While you have all been going over the plan for the tenth time you've given the X-Men enough time to spot us!!!" Shouted Electro.

"Nothing that hasn't been planed for," said Octavius matter of factly. "Proceed with the plans Syndicate"

I'm having problems getting the picture of the map to up load. I may have to look at it at home. (ie not home right now)

I'll place them after I've seen the map, may be later tonight (12 eastern time)

How was the story In your opinion?

perfectly fine. good job.... were gonna have some fun.

Man this really blows. I can't seem to get the picture of the map at home either. RB may have to take this one while I try to find a program that will run the picture.

I'm so bumbed, I really wanted to play. Hopefully I can find something in a day or so.


P.S. I hate the Red Sox... (not letting me get home till 1am grrr.)
