I know this might be old, but I keep getting my a$$ handed to me by Green Lantern's phasing with SHazam, and then Shazam hypersonic speed's over and uses exploit weakness to deliver 5 clicks of damage. My question is this:
The rules say hypersonic is a power action, but exploit weakness isn't. Can you use hypersonic AND exploit weakness in the same move? I know with range combat expert you can't do running shot AND ranged experts +2 damage together, so I wanted an official ruling on this. Captain Marvel(shazam) cannot be that ####ed powerful!? If you could, please provide a raionale and a specific place to find this rule. Thank you.
I'll start wit hyour specific question: Shazaam cannot use HSS and EW at the same time. EW is a Close Combat Action. HSS is a Move Action that allows for either a close or ranged combat attack, NOT a Close Combat Action. Since Shazaam does not have a Close Combat Action available, he cannot use EW.

Also, unless you are playing by old rules, GL cannot carry another flyer (which Shazaam is). And characters cannot use non-free actions after they have been carried.

Shazam! can be carried while Earthbound is showing on his dial . . .
A flyer cannont cary a flyer. Therefore the only way that the phasing Green Lantern can carry a Shazam is if it is the Unique Shazam (not Kingdom Come) still on his first (activation) click.
Secondly you cannot use Exploit Weakness with Hypersonic Speed. You can however use it with charge

There is never an extra movement point spent to pick up or set down a character.
You can phase and carry indoors.
Just remember the two things about that:
NAAT (No Action After Taxi):
The rules state "A carried character does not receive an action token for being carried, but may not be given an action (other
than a free action) until the beginning of the next turn."
FCCF (Flyers cannot carry fliers):
The rules state "Flying characters may carry other friendly characters that have the boot or dolphin symbols;
flying characters cannot carry other characters with flight (with the wing symbol)." and the PAC states, under Earthbound, "This character is grounded and has the boot speed mode instead of its printed speed mode."
thanks a lot. I feel stupid. we play every week and we obviously missed the no action after carry, and the flyers can't carry flyers. i thought they could. i read all the faq's and rules. maybe i missed something.
radicalx- about movement, i meant that you have to count for picking up and for setting down, so a perosn with 8 move range can actually go 6 spaces if picking up and setting down. does GL have to do this, or any other phaser, when phasing and carrying?
also, can a phaser carry a person with superstrength who is carrying an object like a flyer with superstrength can?
The 'Flyers can't carry flyers' and 'no (non-free) action after being carried' rules are in the Indy and Universe rulebooks, not the FAQs. (Universe is the current official rulebook)
And a figure does not need to spend movement to carry another figure at all. Any flyer with an 8 movement can carry a figure thier full 8 spaces, Phasers included.
Any figure carrying an object cannot be carried. However, a flyer with Super Stregnth can carry both an object and a figure at the same time.

I thought that a flyer had to spend movement spaces by picking up and setting down a character? This was in the original rules. YOu have to go up to fluing with them, thats one, and you have to set them down, thats two, so a character with 8 range movement could only go 6 with a passenger? When did this change?
