i just started playing again after a 2 year break. i went and purchased a new starter set cus all my old figs got ruined in the rain, the first thing i noticed was the map size.. it is considerably smaller.. So much so that first move attacks are quite easy.. i was wondering if this newer smaller size map is now the official size.. or do people still use the bigger maps..... by the way i love the smaller size maps , it takes much more skill now to play and building strategy

Actually, these maps are not tourney legal. It was bad enough that WK didn't make a new map for the new base set, but not including a tourney legal map at all really stunk.

Keep in mind that, while easier, first turn attacks aren't *legal*, at least in tournaments. There is a first-turn immunity rule that can be found in the HeroClix Tournament Rules on the WizKids site.

1.12 First Turn Immunity
During a player's turn, he or she may only attack those opposing figures that to [sic] not occupy their original starting position on the map.
