The New Titans #3

Out of the ashes of a defeated team comes a new group of young heroes dedicated to preserving the ideals and honoring the memory of those that came before. These are the New Titans!

Bane stood over the body of a guard, fallen over the main control panel for the lock system of Arkham Asylum. He looked at the man for a moment, and then threw him off of the panel. Then he sat down, and started pressing the buttons that would unlock the doors of the inmates. Deadshot stood behind him with Lady Shiva. They had both been hired by Bane.
“Shouldn’t we have fixed it somehow so that we’d be out before the crazies started rioting?”
“Quiet,” Bane said.
“Sheesh,” Deadshot said in a hushed tone to Shiva. “Why do all our employers have to be so darn tempermental?”
“He’s nowhere near as bad as Arcane,” Shiva answered, with a healthy respect, but not fear.
Bane finished unlocking the doors and then stood up. He stopped suddenly, and listened.
“Did you hear that?” He asked Deadshot.
“What? The sound of crazy people running all over each other?”
“No,” Bane said, his eyes narrowing. “The sound of a camera zooming in. It was your job to eliminate them.”
“I did,” Deadshot answered resolutely. “There must be an independent unit elsewhere.”
“Which means that someone other than the police is watching us,” Bane said, turning to face the camera above him. He looked into it for a moment, and then threw his fist, smashing it.

The Batman was already on his way to Arkham Asylum. He realized how big this problem was, and he was calling in the cavalry. All of his allies in his war on crime would have to be involved in this. Even the Huntress; he didn’t trust her, but this time, he was going to need her. And more, besides.
“Nightwing,” he said, calling his former sidekick as he executed a hairpin turn. “There’s a new villain out there, and he’s broken into Arkham.”
“Why would anyone break into Arkham?” Nightwing asked.
“To break everyone else out.”
“I’ll be right over.”
“Not just you. I need you to get those young heroes you were telling me about, who made their own version of the Titans. Get them, and their short-tempered friend.”

Nightwing opened the front door of Titans Tower and intentionally activated the alarm. It was the quickest way to get everyone down so he could talk to them. He didn’t like this. It was one thing for Cyborg and the others to put themselves in danger, but he resented the fact that Batman decided he could just order them into even greater danger. They weren’t ready for this. But Batman always had a reason for what he did.
“It’s just me, guys,” Nightwing said, as the ‘Titans’ raced into the room. “Look, we’ve got a problem. Arkham Asylum has been broken open, and all of the inmates are running amok. We’ve got to help put them back in lock-up before they all get loose and overrun the city.
“So, we’re all working together, then? Like real Titans?” Cyborg asked, a bit too melodramatically.
“Uh, yeah, seems like it,” Nightwing said, breathing a sigh of chagrin. “Everyone, even Hank.”
“I heard dat!” A voice said from outside of the room. Hank Hall came running in, his eyes blazing. “They ain’t even gonna know what hit ‘em!”
Nightwing rolled his eyes. “Remember what you taught you about control, Hank.”
“Yeah, yeah. Now let’s go fight some bad guys!”

Well, I definitely don’t have an Arkham Asylum map. I’d use the Star Labs one if it was on CreationMatrix, but I guess we’ll just have to go with DC A. (Very popular of late.)

I'm not sure if an ititiative roll is needed or if we just play in the order we're listed in (still learning the whole online gaming thing) so I'll roll anyway. Mine is a ... 3 + 5 = 8.

I guess we need to determine sides, so someone please give me a clue! RB, if you'll allow, I could set my guys up on the left & right sides of this map treating the individual rooms as seperate holding cells but that's up to you!

If the hero players say it's alright, you can do that. Otherwise, the team that wins initiative gets to pick which side they set up on.

Also: because I'm playing in 2 games this time around & I'm pretty busy in my "real" life lately, I will not be able to get too involved in dialogue & stiory aspects here. Oogie56 & fut_baller, if you'd like to put words in my charater's mouth, I encourage you to do so.

I'll go ahead and start a little, Oogie if you're out there tell me to quit!

Actually, you bring up a good point, Ozy. Fut doesn't have to start out with Matches because the rules state that the player must start with the lowest-costing version of a character unless that character is an LE. But while Fut doesn't have to use Matches, he can if he wants. So, Fut, if you're ever putting a squad together, and you want to use Batman but only have 70 points left, you can just use Matches Malone.
