how do these work together?

lets say Human Torch gets a bump on his defence which puts him at 19. Then could he use ICWO to boost his defence to 20?

ICWO is a modifier. If you can use ES/D with shared defense (which you can), any other modifier would be possible so YES to that....and welcome 22D Human Torch!

This is still under debate...
Of course, this concerns Defend, not the AFF feat. Then again, the AFF feat is just like a "Super Defend"... We are waiting for a definite answer.
