Alright, we had a game where U Prof X was adjacent to 6 pogs, and he was hit with a single target energy explosion from V Sgt Rock w/AP, so does the EE kill all the pogs leaving no one for mastermind so Prof X takes one also, or does he transfer his one click first to one of the pogs then the EE kill the rest so Prof X takes no damage???? Just wanted to see if we did it right.
All the damage from that attack is dealt at the same time. You can Mastermind the damage from U Professor Xavier to one of the pogs as the damage is being doled out. One pog would take two damage, the good Professor would take no damage.
HTH.

An Admin told me that I'm "too smart" for Another Realm. I hold that as a standing order.
On a similar note, if (for instance) Xavier was deal 3 clix of damage(with no splash), and was adjacent to a pog, would the pog be able to take it all? Or say it was a "mastermindable" click with only one or two clix of life left, can you mastermind all three clix to the fodder piece?
I've seen it judged both ways and was really just wondering which was correct. Thanks-----m

Mastermind says nothing about the "fodder" figure having a requirement to "be able" to take all the damage from the attack. Certainly, in some cases you wouldn't be able to tell if a figure was "able" to take all that damage without clicking through its base... which is illegal (or at least discourteous ) without actually taking the damage.

Each time this character would be dealt damage, you may instead choose to have this damage be dealt to an adjacent friendly character with a lower point value than this character.
Think of it this way: Mastermind might simulate how this figure hides behind its henchmen to avoid attacks. Or, how this figure inspires such loyalty from his troops that they would take a bullet (or a hit from Mjolnir!) for him.
And also remember: Overkill is legal.
