Mind controller critical misses - you don't take any damage.
Mind controlled piece critical misses - they take the click of damage (not the mind controller).
if you mind control a character and make them attack and you roll critical miss who takes the damage?
The character that took the action. The MC character already made their attack roll and succeeded, any subsequent attacks made by the controlled characters only effect the controlled character and its target(s).

Related Question regarding Perplex and Mind Control.
The PAC says about Perplex - This effect ends immediately if this character loses Perplex or is KO, or if the target is damaged or healed during this turn.
Mind Control is an attack that does no damage. Could you, for example, Perplex U Thor's Defense down to 13, then Mind Control him to attack his own teammates - then, since Thor was not damaged or healed, Mind Control him again (with another Mind Controller that same turn) rolling against a 13 defense?
My H/W link does not reflect the wants for my collection, it is a list of figures that I already have, but still "want" to play.

Sure. That's actually part of a fairly efficient strategy involving Sentinels.
Perplex down the DV of a big, fat point target. MC that target and have it walk right up to your Sentinel. Capture the target with the Sentinel; the low DV makes that really easy. Drop the captured figure off in your starting area for double points!
In fact, if you work it out correct, just leave the Sentinel in the starting area... that way you don't ever have to go anywhere.
Follow up - I can leave the Sentinel in the starting area, capture a fig, and then on my next turn, since I'm already in the starting area, I don't have to move or make an action with the Sentinel, the fig is automatically captured?
If so then that is very cool.

Sort of. You still need to give the Sentinel a power action to release the captured characters in your starting area (so you do need to have at least one action left in your turn), but the benefit of having your Sentinel in the starting area already is that you don't need to waste turns moving back to the starting area. Immediately on your next turn, you can KO the captured character.

I used a Sentinel in a high point game a while back. I had KC Supes in one hand and KC Shazam in the other, and was only 4 squares out of my starting area. Unfortunately, he was able to rescue Supes because I had to waste an action moving my Sentinel back to the starting area. At least I got double points for Shazam. Woulda been nice to have gotten double points on both figures (over 1000 pts)...
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.
New Question: Why would the Mind controller not take damage if the critical miss while trying to mind control some one? Yes a mind control attack does the attacked click no damage but a critical miss by definition would still cause the mind controller damage. The only time that a critical miss doesn't do the targeting clix any damage is on a support roll and that's because it cause the targeted clix damage.
The rule for Critical misses says: If you roll two 1s (for a total of 2) on an attack roll, you automatically miss the target, even if your attack roll result would be high enough to hit the target. This is called a critical miss. Immediately click your character’s combat dial once clockwise; this represents a weapon backfire or your character straining or wounding itself during the action.
No where does it say you wouldn't suffer damage if you are trying to mind control someone.
If it does show me please.

No damage. An attack that deals no damage may not have the damage further modified by powers or team abilities. Attacks that deal no damage deal neither critical hit damage to the target nor critical miss damage to the attacker.
