this week at the venue i go to, we are playing a 1000 point team... i was planning on using siphon power with my Wildfire.... now my question is... if wildfire copies a team ability from my opponent, and i dont have that team ability on my team... can the other wildcards on my team copy that team ability from wildfire!?!?!?!

It is my understanding that only the figure with Siphon power can use the TA. So this feat is great for a tent pole team with a center wildcard piece, but not good for a wildcard team with a ton of figs.

Yes you can copy a TA from a wildcard....HOWEVER. The card for Siphon Power states that the feat REPLACES the wild card TA with a new TA that siphon's powers. So you cannot wildcard off of it b/c the character assigned the card is no longer a wild card and neither is he a member of the team he is siphoning from. So no, you can't wild card it.

Actually, you can't copy a Wildcard's copied ability. If, say, Dr. Doom was copying alt FF from Sue, and Sue is KO'd, the remaining Wildcards on the team (who were perhaps copying some other TA) can not copy alternate FF from Doom. This is because Doom does not actually have the alternate FF TA, he has the Minions of Doom TA. He just happens to be using alt FF. From the general errata:

A character must posses a team ability in order for a wild card to use it. Wild cards do not possess the team abilities that they are using. Therefore, a wild card could not use a team ability that another wild card is using if they can only get it from that wild card.

Well, though my technicals weren't quite there, the answer is still the same.

Now I see that almost everyone says you cannot.

I understand the above arguments. A Wild Card TA allows one to copy another TA, but they do not actually have that TA on their dial.

Easy enough.

Feats are optional? ...I am fairly sure...but Alternate TA Feats such as Society and Thunderbolts, Alt FF are not optional....they kick in at the start of the game.

My Query about Siphon Power.....????

It is worded almost as an alternate Team Ability...as far as I understand it your Siphon Power'd wildcarder can no longer copy your own TA's as a normal wild card.
The Siphoner can only copy an opponent's TA and ONLY 1 per the complete turn.

Normally I would think this would make the Siphoner a target for normal Wildcard functions as the Alt FF Feat allows.

BUT....hold your horses folks....the feat then goes on to say that the Siphoner follows all other rules for wildcard TA's

This is the crux of the Feat....as it reverts this psuedo-alt team ability...into a sub-wild card category which prevents other Wild cards from copying it under the rules

Doesn't matter what almost everyone says, the errata says you can not. And that's that.

No, it can copy any TA on the board that is normally copiable, not just your opponent's TAs. So you can copy your own. From the description of Siphon Power:

Once at the beginning of each player’s turn, this character may choose and use on that turn any team ability that any figure on the battle map possesses. This team ability follows all other rules for the wild card team ability.

Not just opponents, see above, but yes it can only copy one TA per player turn, chosen at the beginning of the player's turn.

Umm... what reasoning? Are you asking if wildcards can copy the Siphoned TA? If so, that's already covered in the DC errata:

• A character with Siphon Power may not have the team ability it is using copied by wild card characters.
• Wild cards may not copy the rewritten team ability that Siphon Power grants.
