Went to some new venues today, and needed to clarify some rules. The judges at the venue "informed" us of some of our rules misperceptions. Could you help me out?
- Pounce and objects. Can I pick up an object while I am moving in to pounce?
- Wildcarding Alternate FF and Thunderbolts. The judges said that wildcards CANNOT copy a Thunderbolted team abilit (ala E Wasp using Thunderbolts to go GL Corps) or the Alternate FF (ala V Dr. Strange becoming FF and getting a defense of 19 from Sue). Now, I'm pretty sure they are totally wrong on this, but I can't find where exactly in the FAQ. In fact, they said that Wildcards attempting to copy these abilities only copy the ORIGINAL abilities (i.e. free move or heal after KO friendly fig).
Also, just as a courtesy note, if these guys are wrong about the above rulings, what would you think would be a good way to let them know?

HOWEVER, if you use siphon power you do wildcard the original power, not the alt (you do not get to use enemy feats)
They may have read something on that and assumed it applied to all alts and WCs
This is why I have a binder with all the latest documentation. Not only is a good reference for my venue, when I go to a new venue I have all the material right there if the judge is making some... "interesting" rulings.
All judges should be current on all the latest errata, rulings, and such; it was part of the agreement we signed when we became judges. Most judges are current with these things and do a great job. The few who don't stay current (for whatever reason) are the ones that players come on-line and complain about (like this thread here)... which makes us all look bad.
I am not saying judges should be infaliable (I certainly am not), but if they just took 30 minutes once every couple months to print out 5 - 15 pages (doesn't even need to be color, I do mine in grey scale to save ink) of the latest updates, problems like this could be avoided.
