52 #6 I liked the resolution to the Elongated Man storyline this issue. I liked the explanation of the Superboy cult. Oh, and also the way they explained what happened to the space heroes. It was nice to get an explanation for why Hawkgirl is a giant and how they were able to cure her. And resolving the Animal Man/Starfire/Adam Strange cliffhanger was nice. And the continuation of the Montoya/Question subplot was just icing on the cake.
Oh, wait, I forgot... *None* of that happened. This issue doesn't continue any of those plots. Not at all.
We're back to Booster Gold, searching for Rip Hunter (with unusual results) and more Will Magnus talking to T.O. Morrow. And that's it. Oh, and Green Lantern and friends fight the Chinese heroes (just so the Chinese heroes can be introduced, but they're not shown off the way you want to, when you're introducing characters, so this didn't work.) And a bit more Black Adam.
Honestly, things are going *so* slowly. I mean, you know how with compressed timelines, with all the Silver Age stories happening in two or three years, so that every hero had to fight like ten or fifteen badguys every day? And now during this year... nothing's happening on any particular day... or week... or month. Gah.
JLA Classified #22 The Detroit League, yay! Wait, I never thought I'd say that. Englehart's writing makes this an enjoyable read.
The Battle for Bluuuuuuuuuudhaven #5 More silly contrivances. Firebrand seems to be hearing Uncle Sam. And the Freedom Fighter-y guys realize that they're on the wrong side when Major Force kills Major Victory after ripping his arm off.
Checkmate #3 Yawn. More "gosh we're so cool 'cause we might kill people" posturing. And more exciting (yawn) politics. Count Vertigo looks awfully young.
GL Corps #1 I hate the art. I'm not liking the Rannian/Thanagarian GL subplot, especially since the "Thanagarian" doesn't look like one. The doctor GL is okay, I guess, though. Although, you had better have read the previous mini-series before reading this issue number one.
Green Arrow #63 Wow, decompression strikes again. Remember last issue, when GA defeated Deathstroke? Yeah, well, he continues to have defeated Deathstroke this issue. Deathstroke continues to appear until page nine! No, Deathstroke doesn't escape or do anything else of interest. The first half of this story is about Deathstroke having been captured. Wow. The rest of the issue is all about Ollie's questionable activities. Oh, and a couple of pages involving (yawn) Brick.
Superman #653 Luthor's kicking Superman's butt... and then Luthor brings out the kryptonite! But then Superman figures out how to win, possibly at great cost to himself. Okay, possibly some good stuff here, depending on what we find out next issue.
Firestorm #26 Progress is made towards the resolution of the "Where is Professor Stein?" plot. However, the character who dies at the end dies rather quickly and unexpectedly, so I don't believe it. I think the Pupil has created a clone body or something as a trap. But we'll see next issue.

See, I didn't see it so much as a Rannian/Thanagarian subplot so much as the Rannian (sorry, but I can't remember his name off the top of my head) having an anger management issue and having an outburst which his co-worker just happens to get caught in.
Proud to be Straight Edge
In the time it takes you to read this, I'm hitting on your sister. If she doesn't take the bait, I've got your mom on hold.

Unlike you, I think the pacing is just fine. To get to the Superboy cult, Elongated Man, and Rene Montoya stuff.....these stroies had to be put on the back burner.
Seriously, it's called 52 for a reason..it all has to be laid out, and I think it's being done well.
Black Adam is ####ing AMAZING as an anti-hero. To me, he's laying the groundwork for the future of DC villains.
1/6th of the Brothers Prob. '19-'20 Season: 15-13(8 events) 2 wins, 2nd XDPS PR 9-7, 7th SOC
Green Arrow #63 - Rated 7 - BRick has become a vigilante, trying to clean up the meaner part of town. To bad some crazy folk have started showing up, apaprently oblvious to pain and very savage.. GA in mad that DS didnt go down fighting instead of just surrendering. We also find that Ollie orcastrated the take down of 3 weapon companies while in return making himself a billionaire.
Green Lantern Corp #1 - Rated 8 - Gotta love Guy! And no I didn't get my free little power ring. The Doc is still having problems with her ring and it not getting effected by yellow. Guy goes back to a world her and her partner are supposed to prtect from invaders but it's not going well. Good stuff.
Superman #653 - Rated 8 - Superman fights off Luthers Kryptonian war machine, which was once used by Dru-Zod. Whats wrong with just Zod? Despite taking a Kryptonite beating Supes grabs Luthor out of the cockpit and flies him up into the sky.. just as his powers fail and they start to fall to Earth... as they fall Luthor tells Supes just hoe much he hates him. Good read. I can't wait for the movie! Suuupermaaaaaan!
52 #6 - Rated 8 - Booster is now paying actors to dress up as villians so he can "take them down". He then goes to visit Rip Hunter and finds out that Rip thinks Booster is to caue for some time disruption. Lots of clues etc on the papaerwork and chalkboards! Cool stuff!

I don't think they could've timed this any better. because for a while now, I've felt as though this story was giving us a glimpse of the movie, from a plot point of view. I thought it was a pretty good issue as well.

It would've been better if, while falling, Luthor tells Supes just how much he loves him. Kinda like the scene in the Blues Brothers with the two na-zi guys flying off the highway to ther deaths.
I really liked Superman, but one thing got me wondering, with that Kryptonian ship gone, doesn't that mean the barrier around Metropolis is gone too? If so, one of the dozens of heroes outside the city should be able to pick them up. It'd be hillarious if they forgot about Lex though. Despite that (if I'm right that is) I still enjoyed the issue and am looking forward to the last one.

This is true. Kinda scary, but true. They could've at commiserated for a bit, tho. Sad, real sad.
Course, in some respects, I don't think Luthor thought too highly of any clones, except his body. Kinda like they were spare parts to him in that case, and in case of the living clones, they were souless creatures to him with no real worth as living human beings. Or at least, that's the way I read into the way he acts. I could be wrong.

Hey, he may not be the "Dad", afterall, Supes is the one with the word "Man" in his name, so Superman could be the Dad, making Lex the "Mom". Course, he sucks as a Mom, too, so, either way, he's a sucky parental unit.
