X-Men #188 - Rated 9 - I actually really liked it. Rogue steps up to bat as a new team leader after proving herself. Meanwhile, Sabertooth is being chased by some evil mutants for some reason and seems asylum with the X-Men. The 2 evil mutants also set up the X-Men for an explosion they caused. Looks like this new direction might be good.
Ms. Marvel #5 - Rated 6 - Art is good but WHY does the villian teleport her to where she can stop his plans from ever happening? That made NO SENSE at ALL. I do like that this series shows a real human side to a superhero though. Anyways next month is the tie into Civil War. Cap wants to chat with Carol but she's gone Pro-Reg. Uh oh.
Ultimate Spider-man #97 - Rated 9 - Kitty gets mad at Peter for being friends with MJ as she feels Peter is still in love with her. PEter and MJ then go to the mall to unwind and it gets attacked by The Scorpion who had a lame looking suit. Spidy beats him down and unmasks him to reveal... himself! A Peter-clone! Uh oh! Meanwhile, MJ is kidnapped. I can't decide who I want Peter to be with! Drama! Good stuff.
Ult Fantastic 4 #31 - Rated 7 - Okay you would think that SOMEONE would have thought that MAYBE the evil FF could turn invis thanks to Sue. I found thier escape plan really stupid. Anyways they escape and plant o bring over more zombie heroes. And we also find no explanation as to why Doom now has normal legs. And oh yea, Doom agrees to help Johnny and defeat the zombies IF Reed agrees to switch minds withi him... which he does unknowingly to the rest of the FF. Good stuff and its going to tie back into the Zombies mini yea!
Ghost Rider #1 - Rated 6 - Eh. Satan keeps tricking Ghost Rider into thinking he can escape Hell. At the end Johnny thinks he has finalyl gained freedom but it's a trick again... then the devil lets him go free... I guess. I don;t know, I guess we will find out next issue. Assuming I care to pick it up.
Ultimate Spider-Man seemed to be a big improvement for me. Not that I haven't been enjoying it, but it's the first issue in a while where it almost felt like reading it when it first began. Consider it a polar opposite to the real clone saga. I can't decide who Peter should be with either though...I do like Kitty but the whole jealousy thing is kinda nuts. Anyone think it's her that grabs MJ at the end? Not a fan of the new inkers though.
And Front Line was interesting in that it featured loads of characters I either don't know or hate, and one I never heard of got killed off. I do prefer it to the way they got knocked off in one panel in Crisis so I did kinda care about the guy since he got a few pages. Considering how popular "Random hero whose name I can't remember" probably is, I guess it's more then fair.
And Annihilation is awesome, though the covers seemed a little rushed. Del Otto does nice work even when he's rushed so I don't mind too mush. It's nice to see Silver Surfer flexing his muscles a little, but I don't think he'll keep the wave from Galactus for too long.

I really enjoyed this book, but these 'three-issue' arcs are really spoiling the series for me; I enjoy the books more when I don't immediately suspect things will be neatly tied up in one more issue...I'm actually surprised that Reed would have left it possible/trivial for someone to open the zombie cell...although it was a necessary cliche to get them free....
Poor zombies, they don't know that they cannot get back home...didn't the universes drift too far apart? I'd also think that they'd forget about their 'friends' back home and just 'make some new ones'.
As far as Doom's legs, geek-explano-text: I'd bet that he has just modded his boots to hide his hooves. Truth: that body 'feature' has probably been forgotten.

Agree with you completely on this one, DC. Right up until he leaves her in a place which stops his plans I was following along with this pretty well. Well, maybe his madness affected his decision here.
I wasn't sure how I was going to like the focusing on a human side thing as I was afraid of way too many talking heads, but they've managed to keep enough action in to allow some introspective work and not forget that it's a superhero book. I am very much looking forward to next month's issue with Cap. After all, he can be pretty persuasive.
By the by, nice to see your reviews back on track.

I agree it was alot better than the previous issue. I didn't think it was a great start but I really do feel like its going to go somewhere. I'm interested to see how they plan on working Cable onto the team. In Cable / Deadpool right now he's in control of two countries, kinda seems odd for him to get up and leave them to help out Rogue's 'strike squad'.
Still its looking good (I thought Uncanny looks promising too). I just hope one of the two titles decides to bring back Gambit and retcon him into being normal again.

I don't buy it. And I mean believability-wise.
Victor Creed isn't afraid of anything. And, he sure as hell wouldn't run to the X-Men for help.
It just seems that everything that Claremont and Larry Hama and Frank Tieri did to develop Sabretooth is being thrown right out the window. Just like Joey Q has done with Magneto.
This is why I don't buy single issues anymore. I wait for the TPBs and if they were a good story arc then I'll buy the TPBs.
I talked with Mr. Claremont at last year's WWE and he told me that every appearance of Sabretooth since the Marauder/Morlock Massacre that he didn't have a hand in writing was a posseur. He related his plans for Sabretooth were going to show just how ferocious he really is.
CC related that Sabe's isn't afraid of anything and slaughtering women and children and men as he has done over the recent years is nothing compared to what he is truly capable of. It's just a shame we'll never get to see that.
Instead, we have to endure Victor running to the X-Men for help against the 'big, bad mutants.'
I thought the big bad muties chasing Sabretooth were intangible. Perhaps the ghostly effect was to show that they were supposed to be invisible. I would figure that people who could hurt Creed but he couldn't lay a claw on would be people he would want to avoid. As for going to the X-Men for help, I don't really think that would be his motivation. It's more likely he would just use them to distract his pursuers.

Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.
Well remember, Creed didnt have his healing factor either so that might make him less likely to get into a fight with powerful mutants
That didn't stop Logan during the Australian Outback days when his healing factor was all messed up.
Sabretooth, Logan and Claremont have all said that Victor is indeed the stronger/better of the two. Healing factor or not, there is no way Vic goes trotting to the X-Men for help... let alone even run away from a battle.
What we have here is another plebe trying to cut his writing career on a franchise that should be reserved for only the best and he as no idea about past character developments. And by best I am referring to: CC, Grant Morrison, Joss Whedon, Frank Tieri and Larry Hama. And, of course, Stan "The Man" Lee and Neal Adams.
