Can Giants Force Blast from 2 squares away?

Not since July 12th, when DR bacame the current rules set and the DR PAC took effect. FB is no longer a CC Attack; its just a power that lets you KB an adjacent opposing figure D6 squares. Because it is no longer a CC Attack it can no longer be used with the Giant's 2 square CC reach and no longer triggers SSenses. The only way it can be avoided is with Charge or Repulsor Shield.

As per the HC Faq...

When a character has powers or abilities that require adjacency to work (such as with Poison, Defend, etc), the giant character must be in an adjacent square (i.e. right next to) to the other character in order for either character to use those powers.


The answer is no. You cannot use FB 2 squares away with Giant figs.

It makes perfect sense if you understand the Giant rules.

The 2 square adjacency only exists for movement and (the Giant's) close combat. Since Force Blast is neither movement or close combat, it does not use the 2 square adjacency rules.

I know the Giant rules seem complicated. There are many not-so-intuitive parts to the rules. However, if you keep in mind what I posted above about movement and close combat, most Giant rules will come to you very easily.
