Maybe if they print a character card for this piece that gives him a free bonus of +2 to DV against all attacks for his whole dial, and stays at 96 points... then I might use him. Maybe.
He may not be competative anymore with all the changes the game has gone through, but I've always felt that this figure was solid. I used him to good effect in many games. In fact, I should dig him out and put him on a team again.
I still defend using this guy, even though his defense values are absolutely horrendous. He does *something* at all times, and if you plan it right, his Poison can really surprise someone who gets by his Impervious. I love having Leap/Climb and Psy-Blast in the mid-dial... so you can always line up a shot on a bigger target. Sadly, his cost is too high, but I will play him anyways.

OK, so the fig represents Anton Arcane in his Man/Spider form (before Alan Moore took the scenario with 'The Anatomy Lesson'). So the power goes well with what he was doing at the time, except you would expect a sorcerer and scientist like him to have at least one click of either perplex or Outwit. The horrible Hypertime defense is his major flaw BUT don't forget he has 8 range.
8 range.
With a slow descending attack value, and Super Strength to take objects, and Leap/Climb to find the best spot. Playing him requires to use it as a sniper, use SS+object on any fool that comes near, then Psyblast in case of other snipers targetting him, and finally base everyone with Poison. Tricky, but he can actually be effective on each click. Still, overpriced when you look at the defense values...
I never knew who this guy was back when HT came out, and still didn't know until I read this comment. Now I have more than just "Arcane" to Google. Great! Glad I stumbled into reading this 6 year old comment!

I'm seeing 3 clicks of Perplex in the database as of now. I suppose they weren't showing 6 years ago?
