On Saturday, October 28, 2006 some lucky HeroClix Supernova pre-release players worldwide discovered a Halloween surprise. What caused the excitement was a polybagged HeroClix piece with a compatible HorrorClix monster card in their sealed Supernova boosters. There has been a lot of discussion on the forums about these pieces but we wanted to clarify a few things.
1 : Marvel HeroClix Supernova has indeed been invaded by 4 Marvel Zombies; Colonel America, Spider-Man, Hulk and Wolverine.
2 : These figures are not just part of the Supernova pre-release but are in fact inserted randomly throughout the Nov. 15, 2006 release of Supernova. Consumers will find them in Supernova boosters at a frequency of around 1 in 100 boosters.
3 : If you aren’t lucky enough to get one, WizKids is planning on releasing a Marvel Zombies product in 2007 for the HeroClix 5th Anniversary. We will NOT be reprinting these original 4 Marvel Zombies.
4 : On top of the Marvel Zombies, the Supernova pre-releases were big successes with high point powerhouses like Thanos and the Silver Surfer being the “stars” of the show.
More information will be coming soon. Thank you for your interest and support of Marvel HeroClix!
In other Supernova related news (and tangent to Marvel Zombies), members attending the Supernova Pre-Release flee to the rescue to report their Supernova goodness. In the following thread, you will find full dial spoilers (except for LE's and currently still missing Marvel Zombie Hulk stats). A big thank you to all members helping us out to create this list. If you don't want to know the spoilers, then DO NOT click the following link.
A guy I played @ Mansfield pulled the Wolverine. The sculpt shows Wolverine with one arm after he tried to slash Silver Surfer in MZ # 3. Even I want one & I'm not big on going after the big dollar stuff unless I really have to.
I just want to point out like I did in the other thread that the article states that there will be a Marvel Zombies product in '07, not neccessarily a Collector Set. A lot of people have already started to assume that it will be a Collector set in the other thread about this, but we don't know yet what it is, it could be an Icons or even a regular sized expansion for all we know. So until we do know what it is, you might want to hold off on paying huge amounts of money for the 4 zombies in Supernova for awhile, as we could still end up getting new versions of them next year.
So there will be a Zombies something. It could be anything. Heck, they could put in chase Zombies for the next set with the Fantastic Four.
Ideally, it'll be a collector's set with some new-dialed zombies of the current release. If I had to guess, they won't make any sort of official announcement until after they think they can spike the sales on the current run of Supernova.
Honestly, what sells a set is by it being a good set, not chase figures.
Mage Knight really liked adding in those chase figures, but other actions ate away at the player base, and the chase figures don't really relate to sales. It'd be nice if WizKids/Topps actually focused on improving its own sales figures instead of improving the secondary market's figures.
We need Sand. And Sandman. And even Sandy the Golden Boy.
I have a feeling they will make a second Horror Clix set featuring the Marvel Zombies. This will increase the sales for the older Horror clix and they could still put non Marvel horror figures in the set.
just to prevent the lynching that may occur if you don't get these 4 zombies here is what M Tuttle said in the WK forums

And this is correct.
