This is from the interview he did on Newsarama:

- this is Cap’s team. Cap said these people are the Avengers so that is why they are Avengers. And what that means and how that motivates the team is a big, big, big, big part of why the series exists after Civil War. These people are together for a reason and just because the person who put them together isn’t physically there doesn’t mean that reason doesn’t matter… or matter more…

- There is a line in New Avengers #27 where someone asks “What makes us Avengers?” and I think Luke says, “Captain America said we’re Avengers”…

- Ronins idenity will be revealed fairly soon, Bendis does not plan to drag it out

- Ultron will return in Mighty Avengers as a female

- Mighty Avengers will be an action team/book while New Avengers will be exploring the conspiracy angle and continuing the through line of that mystery. And the conspiracy will be revealed in their first story arc. - People have waited long enough. This isn’t the X-Files where we say it’s coming but it’s not coming because we don't have it. We're not just jerking people around and getting them angered. No, this story is a story with an end with a shocking reveal after shocking reveal and we’re ready to build towards it for a few months right after Civil War because there’s a lot that needs to be addressed..........But it’s a doozy… it’s a big one

- Bendis LOVES organized crime stories and since after every major war organzied crime has always benefited from a boon, Civil War will be no different. He wanted to take Kingpin out of his position of power because hes been there for 30 years and its been done. So The Hood (created byBrian K. Vaughan) will raise up and become the Kingpin of ALL Supervillians in the Marvel U.

- The Hood rose to his new position of power because everyone was involved in the Civil War and no one was there to stop him. He expects this Hood story to go on (and not just in New Avengers) for years.

- He thinks Sentry, Echo and The Hood are GREAT new creations and wants to see them become stables in the Marvel U.

- The New Avengers being chased and hunted by the Might Avengers and (I assume) other Pro-reg heroes will be a main theme in the book. Since all the characters were friends with those now chasing them, and many gave up their lives and/or families to do what they are doing now.

- Bendis said people should expect the single story that will come out of both Avenger books to be "a sprawling epic"

- Dr. Strange casts a spell on his house to make it look like a Starbucks is "Coming Soon" and inside it looks empty. But if the right word is spoken it is revealed as a "lively, great headquarters where everyone can live and be happy". This will lead to a "battle of magics" as Ironman tries to find their headquarters down the road.

- In issue #26 Bendis had Hawkeye yell "Not like this" "at just that moment" but he took it out.

- Bendis asked "Secondly, since when did Luke Cage, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange not have big time powers? These guys are pretty damn powerful, so don't discount this team's power level or their smarts and survival instincts"

It annoys me when people knock on Luke Cage. The guy beat Doom singlehanded. How many people have THAT on their resume?

My opinions/takes on this book.

I would find it hard to believe that Captain America is Ironman. Why would he chase them down and try to find them after putting the New Avengers together

The Hood story sounds interseting, want tos ee how that plays out.

I have heard Bendis say before that both books/teams would be connected and goign through the same overall story. Very intereted to see how this "sprawling epic" plays out since most story's that claim to be epics aren't.

She had "help".

Of course if Squirrel Girl turns out to be Ronin then the comments that the New Avengers are just "street level" go totally out the window.

Luke Cage was just bad### enough to realize that Dr. Doom's armor had one weakness, being hit repeatedly at a single point. Dr. Doom is smart and all, but he's not bad### enough to figure out something like that.

If Squirrel Girl is Ronin then we can call the Mighty Avengers the Mighty mouse Avengers and they will be the street level team. Seriously she is the one person who could have swung the tide of the Civil War
