Anyone else read this? I really really REALLY liked Annihilation, so I decided to get it.
Basically, it was two stories in one for the first issue.
1. Terrax and Paibok are walking with one of Anny's croneys, who is telling them they have to stop resisting the parasites that control them, or else it's just going to hurt more and more next time. They both tell him, "OK."
Then they tell him that Anny is dead. He asks them how they could possibly know that, and Terrax says: "Because your parasites have ceased functioning."
The two of them smack everyone around, and then Terrax destroys the ship they're on. But because he spends all of his energy doing it, they both fall to a nearby planet.
They find out there's some guy there who's made himself ruler, and he saps energy from other beings. Terrax goes in stubbornly and hits him with the Power Cosmic, only to find out that this guy doesn't overload with power at all. So he just slices him in half. Unfortunately, the people aren't grateful for him doing this at all, and preferred to be prisoners, so he just destroys the whole planet. Him and Paibok go separate ways.
2. Stardust reforms, after having been hit by the Galactus beam. He confirms for us that Red Shift has indeed been destroyed. He fights 3 more Ethereals that are angry with him because Anny destroyed their world. He fights them and sucks them up into himself. He then goes to say "hi" to Galactus, who wants nothing to do with him. Galactus looks sick, and he needs to eat some planets, and soon. He also confirms that his appetite is even larger than before, thanks to Thanos, so he's going to have to consume more planets than before.
Stardust, out of love for Galactus, gives up the last remnants of his race as energy to Galactus. Galactus, surprised and moved by the gesture, accepts Stardust as his second herald, admitting that the time has come for him to have two. He also tells Stardust that although SS is at his side, he will betray Galactus again sometime in the future, and that Stardust will be needed at that time.
Stardust then leaves to find him a world, and admits that he's in love with Galactus.

I didn't take it so much that Stardust was "in love" with Galactus as much as it "love" Galactus; Stardust came from a "race" of essentially "existential" beings and this is probably the "security" granted to it by Galactus was the closest it ever felt to a "nurturing relationship" and "being needed".
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

I thought both stories took place after "Annihilation" (it's the reason the parasites stopped affecting Terrax and Co. - Annihilus was dead).

Oh ok you might be right. When I read it, I thought that was Annihilus in the room with Terrax and friends when they escsped. So why did they all think Terrax was dead?(Wow, I should go re-read these issues!)

I believe Terrax asked to be killed, but whomever was going to grant his request (Gamora?) got pulled away before he was killed off.

Sort of rings a bell....But at the end of issue 6, wasn't Nova saying how Firelord was off on a rampage because Terrax died?
Maybe they all think Terrax is dead, but he survived? That might make sense. Again, sorry for my terrible memory from an awesome story! Rep for you two!
Edit: I need to spread the love before I can rep you Dave!
You mean Gamora is better than a mind-controlled Terrax who's fighting the control and asking to be killed? Yeah, I guess. Tell you what, when she starts one-shotting planets we'll talk about her being better.

Yeah, he's going to fight this. He's a Gamora FREAK! Have fun you two!
