The Life and Death of Captain Marvel (no spoilers)
Okay, so I have heard a lot of people mention the graphic novel The Life and Death of Captain Marvel, and I thought about getting it until I saw it was $25. My question: is it a single storyline, or is it a collection of stories with him leading up to the one where he dies? I'd be much more willing to read a solid story as opposed to a collection, and would appreciate knowing in advance. Thanks!
"The Life and Death of Captain Marvel" is a TPB that contains: Captain Marvel 25 to 34 + Iron Man 55 + Marvel Features 12 (Jim Starlin's run on the series, where Mar-Vell becomes cosmically aware, and fight Thanos who possesses the Cosmic Cube), and the Graphic Novel "The Death of Captain Marvel", where Mar-Vell actually dies (because of what happens at the end of Starlin's run).
On-topic: frankly, it's a great book (Mar-Vell fairly fighting the Super-Skrull, then the Controller, and then THANOS ), and if you're not afraid by mid-70's art and writing (for the first part), go for it. The second part relates one of the two most heartbreaking death of the MU (as far as I'm concerned of course, Gwen Stacy's death being the other one).
Off-topic: l'HôtelDauphin, where does your screen name come from (if the answer isn't indiscreet, of course)?
