JLA #7 - Rated 8 - So yea, the team gets invited officially and becomes the new JLA. Roy officially becomes The Red Arrow. He also has a crush on Hawkgirl. The JLS aside from having the Watchtower also has the HAll of Justice landbound base. Starro looks to be up to something. A villian fromt he future shows up. And Brion has gained the powers of his sister. Good stuff as usual!
Supergirl and Legion #28 - Rated 7 - The team sets a trap for the evil aliens. It works and they take the offensive. I didn't for a second thing that Trip Girl had acctually betrayed them. Well a.. there a there ya are.
52 #48 - Rated 8 - So, Renee starts kicking bad guy butt with Nightwing. Unfortuantly they are to late and some kind of fire bombs go off and they start making firepits like on Apokolips! While Nightwing goes to stop the bombs, REnee as the New Question goes to save Batwoman from getting killed. To bad shes to late. Batwoman gets stabbed int eh chest and Renee is about to die as well but Batwoman pulls ot the dagger and kilsl the cult leader.. then dies? If so, I'm not sure I care. I mean it looks like Cass is coming back. Oh and I totally don't buy Renee as Question. She's to... emotional.
Supergirl #16 - Rated 7 - The real story of Kara? WEll for 1 I like the art better... kind of. Most of it envolves her dad so I really didn;t get a feel for the artists version of Supergirl. Anyways Kara has it all wrong in her head. Apaprently her dad was trying to save Krypton from Phantom Zone ghosts that want revenge on all Kryptonians. Honestly I think the man was CRAZY. I really hope thats the truth cause this Bizarro History is ########. Anyways she arrives back on Earth and sees the Ghosts now... uh oh.
Detective #831 - Rated 8 - The art kind of bogged me down. But I loved reading a Harley story. BAsicly the new Ventriliquist breaks her out cause they want her to steal some cash for them. She does but calls the cops and Batman as well. She wants to go back to Arkham and get out on her own merits. She helps Bats beat the bad guys and goes back. The next day she is freed on her own merits for prving she wants to do good. Really good story.
Well, we figured Kathy had to "die" in some manner - all of the featured characters of "52" have suffered death, whether metaphorical or literal throughout the course of the series. The trick is in figuring out which ones recover from it (again, the metaphorical ones are just as likely to not "make it back" as the literal ones).
Firebits again though? Seriously, Apokolipse is needing a new plot because that one shows up at least once a year.

I enjoyed Detective this week. The art over in Batman looks like a horrible Joe Kelly mess, while Detective was alright.
Is Dinni a worthwhile Batman scribe?
Also, did anyone pickup Batman: Snow? I flipped through it, and was thinking about grabbing it. The art looks a lot like Geoff Darrow's work.

Dini was the man behind the Batman cartoons, so if you liked those, you'll like his comics too I'd venture. They're completely self contained, so jump on board when ever you like. Personally, I've loved what he's done so far.
52 #48 - I'm officially bored with Montoya's story in this series. I guess it's personal preferance but to me it feels like filler between Black Adam tales. It shouldn't feel this way either since there was a lot of stuff happening but ... the Intergang Crime Bible?... killing off a character that was introduced in this series?... meh. Bring on WW3!

I agree, but not for those exact reasons.
After all, the Black Adam storyline killed off *two* characters introduced in the series. The difference is that the writers gave us a reason to care about those characters.
I also hate stories where the reader knows something that the characters don't, and you have to slowly watch as the characters in the story figure it out. ("Oh... you mean *Batwoman* is the chick we want to kill? Who woulda thought?")
But I'm also not that fond of street level adventures. I would be happy with seeing the Space Heroes or Black Adam or... well, anyone else.

I like Montoya, and the Question, don't get me wrong. But I really really REALLY want to see this character evolve, and it's not happening. There is virtually no difference at all between the Renee Montoya at the beginning of 52, and the one at the end. And since that kinda seems to be the strength of a weekly comic, I'm horribly disappointed that this is where we're at after 48 weeks. She should have been able to out-think everyone involved in Intergang, if she's truly going to be the new Question. She needed a good entrance for it. And all we got was...well...she slinked out of a snake's grasp.....and monkey-kicked it......and her girlfriend is dead now.
We got 4 more weeks to go, so I hope that maybe Kathy Kane's death will take her to a place where she can finally lone herself out, and start being the "Think of everything, because I ask every question" character she should be, if she's going to wear that mask.
As for Supergirl.....it was an interesting backstory. But we already know what is going to happen:
1. Supergirl goes "OMG, phantoms!"
2. Supergirl rushes to the source of the "phantoms", and fights Clark, attempting to kill him.
3. Clark goes, "You're imagining things"
4. Supergirl goes, "No, I'm not."
5. We see a split-panel of their fathers arguing again on Krypton. And the reader is supposed to go, "OMG, they're so alike!!!11!!!11one!!!"
6. Kara either defeats Clark, and we end the issue thinking he's dead, or she snaps out of it, realizes that her Father is some malevolent entity like Despero, and fights him instead.
Speaking of Despero....is anyone reading S/B? I know it was slow-going, but at least they finally ended the arc. It was a pretty long issue, too. I just wish they'd find a way to clarify its continuity. Especially in the regards of J'onn J'onnz actually being FRIENDLY to Batman at the end of the comic.

Well, by the end of the Martian Manhunter's limited series he's back to essentially being friendly with his allies again and repentant over his actions so that may or may not have bearing on the ending of the S/B arc.
All I know is coming up: The Metal Men! Oooh yeah!

Just got up to speed with Justice league's new series and i'm loving it. I'm a sucker for mysteries and a sucker for character development. i've found myself caring for the characters which i think should be the number one creative priority of any writer. It's a wonderful extension of whats been happening in the recent crossovers in DC. I'm also really enjoying the villains. A smart Grundy in a business suit? Cool!!! The return of Starro? Double Cool!!!! Professor IVo finally achieving immortality without monstrous skin and finding out it's not all it's cracked up to be. And the reverse mr miracle was such a cool creation.

See, this is where different interest in titles/characters can make a difference because I could definitely give this issue a "9" and not just because it literally, well, "Rokk'd" (c'mon, resisting 70+ hours of torture to blindside the Dominators with a plan was suh-weet). It's always nice to see the team put their plan into motion as they're about to show why it's not a good idea to invade the good guys and I loved Jeckie's speech about how the Wanderers are driven by fear but the Legion stands for Hope.
