I have a question regarding the capability of the special object: Soda Machine.
In a recent game, I took quite a shellacing in one turn. The Avengers Captain America attacked my pushed Scarlet Witch. Here is what I observed:
Captain America charged me from a distance of three spaces. On the way, he grabbed the Soda Machine. He rolled a seven with and AV of 10 =17. A clear hit. So the damage taken was 6 (Soda Machine 2 base Damage. +1 special damage. Captain America has a base damage of 3. So the total taken was 6.) :knockedou

Was this correct?
Scarlet Witch didn't stand a chance...
Thanks for your help.
Mike
Exactly right.
Something to note here, what with the recent object rules change, is that per the original rules for the Soda Machine (found here), the Soda Machine's additional +1 to damage is actually added to damage dealt not damage value. Because of this, the rule of 3 is not totally met be the Soda Machine (like it would be with the LoSH Com. Dish) and you can still use Perplex and such to effectively bump the damage up +1 more.

I always KNEW they were right when they said too much soda was bad for you...

WizKids secret: The extra damage is due to the quasi-Incap effect of half-drowning on all that spilled carbon dioxide in the soft drinks.

As an aside... some judges go by the rule that 3D objects are allowed in sealed games, and some go by what nbperp said that they are not allowed in sealed games.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

Footnote to the aside: nbperp clarified on the WK site that he ruled no 3-D objects in WWE type Invitational events that he runs, but that 3-D objects are allowed in regular sealed play. This is also supported by the WK HC tournament rules. However, if they so wished, I suppose that judges could house rule no special objects, but as it stands, they are legal!

In fact its in the heroclix errata & clarifications that 3-D objects are allowable unless otherwise stated, no?
Last I checked house rules are not allowed for events such as COG and the like, so they must be allowed.

Actually, they've never said that these are Marquees. They are standard sealed events, as far as we've been told, so house rules are allows as of now.
It's been rumored the the Galactus event won't allow house rules..... but I don't think there's been anything official (so I doubt there will be at this late point)
But yes, the official docs say they are allowed.... Norm has said in a post that they aren't in certain events....... take that for what it's worth.
