Not including that time the High Evolutionary shut-off all of mutant-kinds powers. Now, that lasted a few days in their time.
When did that happen? And why didn't wolverine/chamber/lots of other mutants die?
You're good. But I'm magic!

The problem is that a lot of new players come from the "race generation" they want to define their worth by the "skill" they posses in playing a game of toy soldiers.

This was way back in the early to mid-90's, I believe. Turned out that Mr Sinister had coaxed the High Evolutionary into creating a device to shut off the Mutant gene. It was a space station type place, and once there to find out how to stop it, they suddenly had their powers back, as the thing projected outwards, down at the earth.
I don't know why Wolvie or Chamber lived. They never got into that, as far as I recall.
so does he still have to wear the visor...because i've seen recent pics of him using his powers and having glowing red eyes and no visor...and on the cover of astonshing x-men 24 he doesn't appear to have his visor on....
Emma did what Xavier never bothered to - got to the psychological root of why Cyke couldn't control his powers. The trauma of confronting it left him powerless for a bit, but apparently he's back in stride with full conscious control of his optic blasts. Buh-bye ruby quartz visor.

Be fair. The idea of it being "mental trauma" is new. It was established long ago that it was physical brain damage from the fall from the burning plane when Scott was a child that kept him from controlling the optic blasts. This is why when either possessed/mind controlled/ ect. the blasts were still uncontrolled.
