Alright folks, lets try to think up a big diverse set of X-Factor teams. Now that we've got a Strong Guy I'm really jonesing to set up some teams. I'm not bothering with retirement or hard keyword themes, but if anyone wants to make suggestions for some of those lets see'em.
Volume Two:
V Havok 44 + Contingency Plan 12
V Polaris 76
Strong Guy 124 + Unstoppable 5 + Hold the Line 4
R Multiple Man x2 34
Total 299
V Havok 44 + Contingency Plan 12
V Polaris 76
Strong Guy 124 + Unstoppable 5 + Hold the Line 4
E Multiple Man x2 64
R Multiple Man x3 51
V Quicksilver 105 + Swingline 10 + Endurance 5
Total 500
The 500 pointer is nice, although for accuracies sake I think it might be worthwhile to drop a Multiple Man rookie or two and add some version of Wolfsbane. The team could easily be bumped another 100pts by adding Forge and Val Cooper.
Modern X-Factor:
V Madrox 44
LE Jamie Madrox 39
E Multiple Man x2 64
Strong Guy 124 + Unstoppable 5 + Hold the Line 4
V Wolfsbane 39
R Songbird (Siryn sub) 44
Total 299
Before a current X-Factor could really be a competitor I think we'd need a good Monet and Siryn, they're a great pair in the comic, and the added flight and mobility powers would be pretty crucial for a strong offense.
My old 300 point X-factor team performed very well:
E AW Quicksilver + Thunderbolts 67
R Polaris 50
V Havok 44
V Wolfsbane 39
E Multiple Man 32
E Multiple Man 32
R Multiple Man 17
R Multiple Man 17
298 points
With Strong Guy availible, I'm thinking about trying out this variant:
Strong Guy 124
R Polaris 50
V Havok 44
E Multiple Man 32
E Multiple Man 32
R Multiple Man 17
299 points. For a 400-pointer, add U Forge and another R Multiple Man., or AW E Quicksilver and Wolfsbane.
Don't know too much about the modern X-factor, but... wouldn't Banshee be a better Siryn substitute? After all, they have basically the same powers...
Havok; MM039; 44; X-Men
Multiple Man; SI049; 17; X-Men
Polaris; MM031; 50; X-Men
Quicksilver; AW054; 105; X-Men
Strong Guy; MU005; 124; X-Men
Wolfsbane; IC030; 39; X-Men
Jamie Madrox; SIB01; 7; no affiliation
Jamie Madrox; SIB01; 7; no affiliation
Jamie Madrox; SIB01; 7; no affiliation (can be switched for Val Cooper pog)
9 characters, 400 points
One big problem is themed enemies. We have Sinister but none of the Nasty Boys. They were pretty generic, so using any second or third stringers like Constrictor or Blizzard should be adequate.
50pt Polaris
123pts Strong Guy
44pt Havok
17pt Multiple Man
17pt Multiple Man
7pt Val Cooper
plus 1 of these options
32pts Multiple Man or 32pts Wolfsbane
10pts worth of cards
or
28pts WOlfsbane
leaving 14pts of cards
Mafia wins: Acolyte Neophyte, Plasmus!
As an avid role-playing gamer; I suggest roll20 for all your online rpg needs.

The only Banshee I have is the vet, and he's a bit more expensive than I could fit. If I had the Exp version he'd probably be an OK sub, though a good modern Siryn would need some mind control and other abilities Banshee wouldn't have.
I wouldnt pay a 500pts game with, too many big guns out there would chew the X-factor up. 300 & 400 ideal.
My experience is just the opposite. Swarm teams, especially well constructed swarm teams, virtually always eat up the big guns.
I'd go 600
44 Madrox
+12 Contingency Plan (works better on him as he can push and still use it for about 4 clicks or so)
+10 Outsmart
+Protected 44 Havok
+5 Lucky Break ( he can deal the most damage so he's the one you need to make sure hits) 76 Polaris
32x2 Multiple man E
17x2 Multiple man R
124 Strong Guy 105 Quicksilver
+8 Protected
+10 Armor Piercing
+10 Swingline 39 Wolfsbane
7 Val Cooper
Iron River Read my wife's comic or I will say mean things about your dog.
I suckered these guys into playing: Feedback Damage
No cutting points on Strongguy
However R. Polaris is a must, same damage, same purpose...TK and clean up.
If u need the leadership then run V havok...however R is just as good and if u need a taxi play the Exp...whos great for the points.
Now for Quicksilver...Ids say R. or Exp Armor Wars...preferably Rookie with AP.
Wolfsbane: Vet or LE all the way.
Now for Multiplemen...Im good with 2 r. and 1 Exp...especially since in the book he kept 2 along with him for a while. Use the vet though if u feel u really need outwit or leadership.
the of course there is also Val Cooper pog who u should be able to fit on nearly any team and Forge...who I think is a great support piece and one of the few figures worthy of Nanobots for theme reasons.
DR Jean Grey 50
DR Angel 50
FC Beast (repaint - red costume) 50
FC Cyclops (Repaint, Yellow X costume) 50
M&M V Iceman 100
It worked out well for me. I fought a platoon of Cuckoos, and Jean Mind Controlled an opposing Beast to swap a click of healing and snagged an opposing Emma for a support roll!

I'm going to go with as straight-forward a team as possible, with as little cardboard as possible:
V Havok 44
V Polaris 76
Strong Guy 124
E Multiple Man 32
R Multiple Man x3
V Quicksilver 105 + 10 Armor Piercing
V Wolfsbane 39 + Life Model Decoy 12
Val Cooper 7
500 pts
The LMD on Wolfsbane keeps her in the game that much longer (she's tougher than a vanilla 15 defense anyway!), and keeps her safe from EE which, with such a large team, might get thrown their way. Naturally, she becomes a great click-swapper with, say, Quicksilver who can push and end up next to her to heal up while she activates. Val makes a great stealth wall and the Rookie MM's can tie people up or swap out clicks. Play some BFC's with group benefits - Resistance, Assembled, etc.

If you're not concerned about Keywords - and I know I'm not - I'd use the E Quicksilver if you have him. He's a might less expensive than the V, but provides most of the same benefit IMO. With the 43 point spread you're saving you can fit more of Madrox on the team.
