Has anyone considered any teams in the Floor Format that invest the 25 points in the (Avengers) Fortitude?
On the face of it...it seems like a bad investment, since it is 25 points of your non-floor "budget", but considering the large amount of (relatively) cheap Outwit in the M&M set (much appearing in the Commons), I can see it having uses.
Personally, given my own collection options, there are only a couple of figures that I think merit it: the various Hulks...especially Rampaging Hulk in order to keep his first click special power in play.
Rampaging Hulk needs FLOOR-titude. Not so much because I fear Outwit - but there are a number of bruisers in the set who can Exploit Weakness very easily.
RamHulk leaves a lot of room for backup even with the feat.

I played a Rampaging Hulk with fortitude and it rocked. I did play against a lot of outwit, and a number of the brick killers also possess exploit weakness, which fortitude protects against.
Some teams rely on being able to outwit the defense modifiers, so it was kind of nice.
As an aside - I'm using Outsmart on Arcade as cheap Fortitude for him & his Mastermind fodder. I wanted to give him some protection but didn't want to waste 25 points doing so. Also: Outsmart helps me meet the Floor requirement Fortitude - not so much.

Iron Man * bling blingin' on everybody's expectations
Spider-Man (MuMo)
NGN Hulk
No Feat Cards, BFCs were Exhaustion, Poor Teamwork
Fortitude is good, but it just wasn't necessary. I even had to take down an Apocalypse...difficult, but not impossible....I played Exhaustion, he played Shrunk.
The entire tournament, Hulk only ever took a click of damage for pushing. I don't even remember him being attacked.
Playing Fortitude guarantees a quick, Outwit-less trip to 2-0, whereupon you will get stomped not by an Outwitter, but by a team that you're sure you'd be able to beat with just 25 points more of Feats or upgrades in fig selection.
Not playing Fortitude guarantees you'll see 7 Agent Brands, 13 Black Tom Cassidys, 27 Bishops and a mixed bag of Prof. X, AoA Jean Grey and their ilk arrayed against you (in the event as a whole, not on one team -- 27 Bishops would be illegal) and just may as well pack up for the evening.

SO, what you're telling me is that you're an optomist.

Why the heck would an Apocalypse player have Shrunk as a BFC?!?
He does realize that Apocky has a 10 range with dual targets, right?
But yeah, I've considered Fortitude for both Outwit immunity as well as ignoring Exploit Weakness. I'm honestly thinking of taking a gamble with Apocky + Fort + Repulsor Shield next week (Malice isn't too popular out here, so I'm not too worried about that...)

I am guessing this was your last match as it seems to me Exhaustion would be a benfit to Apoc with his ability to ignore pushing damage and his chances to regen late game. Also it seems shrunk would be much more helpful to you in this matchup then to him.
I'm guessingyou had to play the BFcs that you had leftover in the final.
Either way congrats!!!

Yep...that was exactly it.
Malakim mentioned the weirdness of the guy playing Shrunk. Well, even with Half of a 10 range, all his ranged effects were greater than mine. Hulk can't really Quake Apocalypse, so I had to run and use his other two guys as blockers to LOF for Hulk (he an Exp SHIELD and Red Riding Hood backing up Apocalypse).
The guy in question is a good player, he just wanted to try out Apoc. I don't know why he'd run Shrunk. I played exhaustion, but i definitely was gonna ignore that. I didn't end up needing to push, tho.
One you get in some damage on Apoc, you will probably think twice about having him push when if he fails the roll, he'll take 2 clicks. Col. America would have loved that with Spider-Man basing the big guy. That was really the edge I had. He actually got 2 Impervious rolls before i started dealing anything that stuck.
