So I'm playing three Cuckoos. Three beause three are still alive and three because the synergy and tempo of three seems the most efficient.
Who would you play to compliment your Cuckoos? More Cuckoos? Offensive support? Defensive support? A primary attacker?
I pulled this Teen theme together and wasn't really impressed with it's performance.
Cuckoo x3
Jakeem Thunder
Wiccan
I thought I'd give the Cuckoos 18-19 defenses, damages of 3 at range before Hive Mind, and potentially FIVE Probability Controls. But I couldn't figure out the placement. Someone was always in the back unable to attack.
Coordination solves your issues with LOF. Put it on the Cuckoo in the rear and you're good to go.
I fielded four Cuckoos and Emma Frost to win my Warbound. Here's how I set it up.
2x Cuckoo + Coordination
2x Coordination + Protected
Emma Frost + Inside Information
I put the Cuckoos in a box formation, with the Coordinated ones in the back. They would Taxi in the beginning rounds so that the opponent would either have to shoot the front row and burn the Protected feats or try and hit the 18/19 defenses in the back.
In the box, you've got +3 to any stat as well as Emma's Perplex and Leadership, and pushing to attack is never bad because it gives you all that sweet, sweet PC. With Coordination, you'll never have to worry about LOF issues from attacking or PCing, and that will give you as many as 4 PC rolls in one round, not to mention the one you get for having the theme team bonus.
Try this team with the Resistance and Inertial Interference Field BFCs so one round you'll be immune to Outwit and you can nerf mobility in the next. Just watch out for Energy Explosion with all those SR Storms roaming about.
LIke it all! You don't think Wiccan could serve the Cuckoos well? Early Enhancement to several attacks, and Group Teleportation to save Cuckoo actions for attacks?
Having played against this exact team, I can say it shreds everything in front of it.
Prof. X outwits and pumps the Cuckoo's attacks, while the Cuckoos keep hitting everything in front of them for 4-5 clicks of damage... with PC, even.
And the theme bonus on top of that.
Then you add the leapfrogging ability of the Cuckoos and their MC, plus Professor's MC... and it's a nightmare to deal with.

On Sunday, I played the following Teen theme team.
Cuckoo x3
Jakeem Thunder
Chamber w/ Inside Info & Streak of Luck
300 points
I went 2-1, decimating the two teams I beat, and having a knockdown, dragout fight with the one I lost. Everyone else in the room was watching our match by the end. The team I lost to was an Arcade/OOTS Batman combo. What really killed me was Arcade getting an object next to Jakeem and blowing it up, taking him off his 19 Defend click.
The Streak of Luck feat never actually came into play, however, as no one aimed at Chamber. Next time, I'll have to put it on either one of the Cuckoos, or on Jakeem himself.

I actually went 6-0 with this team, won me both Shockwave and Protected.
Another idea would be (and this is similar to the other Teen Theme):
4 Cuckoos
Young Superman
Phantom Girl
Basically, swap out X-23 and Endurance for another Cuckoo. I think four is the optimum number to have, due to the rule of 3. And you can have Young Superman and Phantom Girl run interference. This also would nerf the SIF/Barrier team ideas, thanks to Phantom Girl. She could run in and phase/destroy the SIF, the Cuckoos blast a hole in the barrier and pound on a barrier fig, then Young Supes charges in with something nice and heavy.

I played against a team with 4x Cuckoos (one with Coordination) and a Jakeem (with some feats on him, can't remember them). It was nasty. Went 3-0. My only chance was a MC attempt from Living Monolith to try to make Jakeem Quake his Cuckoos. 9 AV rolling against a 19 DV when the opposing side has multiple PC figures that can all see your MC no matter what pretty much spelled my doom. Another player had SR Storm and she tried for the multi-target EE but also could not hit their Defense.
I'd try 3 cuckoos with Emma Frost & feat emma up to Compell the Cuckoos from the back row. Of course you have plenty of points to put in another attack/support piece.

Professor X works especially well. There's great synergy between the Cerebro and Hive Mind powers, as well as the 12 range up on the elevated in the back overlooking the field with LOF to all Cuckoos and enemies.
Also, by the time someone's chewed through the Cuckoos (if they even get that far), they're almost guaranteed to be manageable for Chuck. Between Outwit, PB, his high attack and 12 range, there aren't many figures that can take him on one on one.
Come play in a mafia game! Hey! I'm talking to you, Scott Pilgrim!
I used a teen theme in a fun game, and I thought the team was decent:
Cuckoox3 (all with inside information, one with coordination)--the one with coord goes in back so all three always get the hive mind bonus +2
Wiccan
Phantom Girl
Bucky /w Monster Hunter
X-23
2 theme probs and 4 regular probs.
Hey, is it true that you can only use a cuckoo's hive mind power on one stat for a given action? Like, I can only add +2 to range instead of +1 to range and +1 to attack?
I actually think four Cuckoos is the way to go: 1 carries 2 and 3, while 4 moves alone. It gives you the option to start pushing/re-arranging on turns 2 and up, and you have the option of always making attacks/moving.
That said: I'm looking forward to trying them (I only have two!) on a Psychic team with Cassandra Nova, with the LE Captain Britain as CN's taxi.
