Why was the DC Trivia thread closed? It didn't appear to be in bad taste, it was 8000 posts deep, it was posted to regularly, and it was one of the main reasons I visit this site.
(I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for this post, I figured that the mod who closed the thread might be in charge of the DC Comics fora, and might see it here.)
Thanks for your time,
wyld
When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.

In addition, the threads have somewhat degraded into a buddy-fest for just a few people, namely JTR. As such, 3 or 4 people dominated 3 threads that as a result constantly hovered at the top of the comic forum, bumping other broader/current discussions down.
Besides that, when a thread gets to be 8000 posts long, it severly impacts the server and processing speeds. Thread like that which are actively engaged by many people we allow. But for a thread that large to slow down the server just so 3 or 4 people could banter wasn't an efficient use of our bandwidth and server capacity.
Though, the reason "because there were more than one of that thread" for closing that thread probably wouldn't fly very well with the people in all those Mafia games. : )

Ah, but the difference there is that each game is different. It has a different storyline, characters, players and win conditions in some cases.
Can the same be said about the three different trivia threads for the same subject?
What, am I normal or not?
Am I crazier than other patients?
Right, I've done everything right.
So where's the karma, doc? I've lost my patience.
Well, I'd say so - each question asked was different. (With the exception of questions re-asked to see if anyone would notice.) The content was wide-ranging, so I consider that equivalent to the different content found in the Mafia games. I'm biased, though, naturally.
I dig the need to ease up on server activity. I was just curious why it happened so silently.

Mafia games are the only reason several members even frequent the site, and considering many of those members are donors, the site isn't doing too badly by hosting the games.
As I was a part-time reader and participant of the comic trivia threads...would it be okay to open new ones in the arcade forums ...as it semems to fit better there?

Hrmmm, thats an interesting thought. Personally, I think they should stay in the comic book forums. Most of the thread posters don't even go near Another Realm. Not to mention that I'm sure there'd be some issue if they get buried under the Mafia threads.
