FvJvA #5 - Rated 7 - A big brawl as Ash tries to get the girl to read the spell to send the 2 killers back. You would think Freddy would make it his top priority to stop that but instead he focuses on Jason. Eh. Still though, it's Ash kicking thier butts and the groovy!.
CD #9 - Rated 4 - I noticed that Marys lightning bolt symbol is black now. Anyways they all fight brother eye who find a killer disease in Karate Kid to use against humanity. Piper gets Eye to flee as the world looks to start to shake apart. Bleh.
Teen Titans #56 - Rated 8 - You gotta love a book that has people prank calling Batman and stealing Wonder Girls panties. As for th rest of it? I really don't care about Kid Devil. Angst angst angst.. I hope after all of this he grows a pair and stands up to people. OH yea, KD gets confronted by the Terror Titans uh oh!
JSA #13 - Rated 8 - The best part about this book was the start w/ Jakeem looking for a room. Funyn stuff. Then it goes back to the Gog storyline and KC Supes goes to talk to regular Supes to find out what he knows about Gog. Together they trackhim down but he escapes. We see him kneeling toa big purple face.... what is that? Good stuff.

Nice to know the two Supes have now met.
Big Purple Face? Makes me think of Parasite, but I doubt that's who you mean.

Not to mention Herc elbows normal Superman in the face and gives him a bloody nose. Then he punches KC Supes in the chin, and clutches his hand in pain.

They did mention in KC that Supes had, over the years, become more powerful (and that kryptonite hadn't much of an effect on him anymore).
JSA was pretty good stuff. The face looked like Mongul but it was gigantic.
All Star Batman and Robin - Rated 9 - It takes forever to to come out but its good when it does. Hal Jordan comes to plead with Batman to tone down his methods. They meet in a cheap warehouse and we see that Batman and everything in it is covered in Yellow paint to mess with Hal. Hal gets on him for turning Dick Grayson into a teenaged sidekick and Robin proceeds to steal Hal's lunch. The shenanigans turn south and Batman takes Robin to his parent's graves to grieve.

Blue Beetle #24 - Rated 10 - This is the best book I've read so far this week. Jamie's family survived the blast from the Reach spaceship. But how? It was Traci 13, showing up to tell them she's dating their son. And she brought cookies. The family takes off into town in Paco's "Beetle-mobile." Meanwhile, Jamie has been captured and his scarab has been killed. He has no scarab, so no healing ability, and no powers, and he's trapped on an alien spaceship. But he's the Blue Beetle, and the thing about Blue Beetles is that they don't need no stinking powers! Using all the knowledge that was left in his head by the scarab, Jamie breaks out of the prison cell and makes his way to the launch bay, grabbing a ship and flying it through the mothership to the engine bay. Meanwhile, the head Reach guy, the Negotiator, sends some soldiers to finish off Jamie's family. When it looks bad for them, Peacemaker and the Posse show up to help out. And the Negotiator is convinced Jamie is still communicating with the Scarab, but all reports say it is completely dead, and this is all Jamie. And down in El Paso, more backup shows up, for both sides, just as Jamie finally gets to the engine room of the spaceship and enters a code into the system. And the ship can't even figure out what the code is supposed to do. It looks completely random. And Jamie's mother asks Brenda to run and save her daughter from the fight, and Brenda tells Paco to come with, but they get caught in an explosion and it looks like Brenda might be dead. And to make matters worse, they're surrounded. And in the spaceship, Jamie is captured and held at gunpoint, but refuses to back down (very reminiscent of Ted's death). When asked if he has any last words, Jamie says "Just two." Then he shouts "Khaji Da!" To be continued next issue.

Actually, it looks more like a metallic grey. I think this represents her knowing what it's like to be good and bad. Brother Eye taking over Apokolips like that was mind-blowing. All these years and all we needed was Batman to end Darkseid's threat..! Why Brother Eye spared and brought Piper to him was just an incredibly LAZY way for the writers to have Piper drive Brother Eye off the planet. At least they explained why he brought Karate Kid to him. Piper killed Desaad. Wow. Flash's Rogue Gallery is becoming the most dangerous rogues gallery ever! First,, Captain Boomerang kills Robin's (Tim Drake) dad, then, the other rogues kill Bart Allen and now Piper kills Desaad. Their kills keep getting bigger and bigger. Nobody's laughing at them now. Jason Todd as the Red Hood was fun but, again, the writers are lazy. Jason Todd/Red Robin is handling Omacs just as handily as Holly and Harley did the Furies without any powers! PUH-LEEZ!! Harley at least was already enhanced thanks to Poison Ivy. For me the best arc in all of this mess was Monarch and I still think he got shafted. I browsed through this at the stands and I gotta say, Kid Devil should've got DAS BOOT! If Supergirl (who I'm not a current fan of) is kicked off so, Wondergirl can sort through her "Kryptonian issues" then, KD should've been gone after the stuff those guys did. Not to mention, Batman knows Ted Kord is dead and he's met and knows how mature Jaime Reyes (the new Blue Beetle) is, so why would he think BB was pranking him? That purple face belongs to none other than...BUM! BUM! BUM! THANOS!!! You heard it here first, folks!
BTW, this was a good issue!
Superman: "One of these days, Lois....POW!!! Right to the Marvel Universe!"
This was the first issue from the whole Trio El Batman's storyline that started to pull it together for me. I really had no idea WTF was going on. You had the one at beginning of Morrison's run that was taken out. Then you had Steroid Bats (who for some reason I thought was Damian) who nearly "broke the Bat" during that arc. Then you have Red Goggle Bats who has "killed" Batman. Then brought him back to life. Then strapped him to a chair and let Bats know how he felt by shooting an arrow through one of his arms. um..... Ouch.
Turns out, Batman participated in an experiment with a Doctor Hurt (Thomas Hurt) and was sensory deprived for 10 days. Gotham PD ran the same experiment on 3 "lucky" police officers and were made into these "batmen" in case there was a day without Batman. These Batman are now released onto the public because they need to be tested OR perhaps because Batman is almost through. At any rate, Red Goggles Bats decides to chop Batman's arm off with a machete. But it goes right through. WHA???????????
Batman turns the tables, letting the reader know that he's always prepared for these scenarios. He disjointed his hand/arm and pulled it out of the strap on the executioner's chair.
It ends with Batman losing the chase on Red Goggles. Then Batman calls Alfred and tells him something big is going to have to happen.....next issue. DUM DUM DUM!!!!!!!!!!
Really though. It brought all the stuff the reader has been going through on Morrison's run. It'll be interesting to see if he can actually bring it all together and tie it in with the Club of Villians.
LoSH 39 Rated 3. Princess Projecta doesn't have a world anymore so she loses her title (Citizen Projecta?) and all her money. She also has all her stuff repoed after she ignored the bill collecters (still have those in the 31th?). At the end she's looting stores. Saturn Girl's using her powers to "bend" people's thoughts (These are not the droids you're looking for.") including Timber Wolf. Oh, and Collossal Boy, Ultra Boy, and Elemental Lad help contain a few thousand green rats.
Action 862 Rated 8. Basicly a set up for the grand finale issue. Supes and company recruit the Substitute Legion and attack the JL headquarters. They find Sun Boy is trapped and is the reason the sun is red. Earth-Man (the old Nemisis Lad I believe) has the rest of the Legion trapped and alive because he needs to copy their powers every 12 hours. So Supes and Earth Man get into it. Supes uses his flight ring and pushes them both into the vacuum of space. Too bad Supes doesn't have any powers now. He really ought to think these things through.
I have to agree. I just read it, and I don't know if Frank Miller is going out of his way to make it bad and make fun of other Batman comics, or if he's just completely off his rocker. Robin pickpocket-ed Green Lantern's ring, and then proceeded to beat Hal up until dealing a killing blow. And then Batman had to give Hal an emergency Tracheotomy to save his life. Because Robin tried to kill him. For no reason. Gah!
