Sometime ago, in a thread debating Superman's clix accuracy, someone posted a link to a Silver Age issue where E-2 Superman fought E-1 Superman. The link showed several panels of the two of them duking it out. I've searched for that post and have been unable to find it. I am pretty sure it was issue #74 of Justice League of America.
However, were there any others? Thanks!

In the 70's there was also an oversized Tabloid Edition of Superman vs Superman, with both Lex Luthors as well. It also featured Ultraman and Alexander Luthor (Infinite Crisis' Alex Luthor's dad).
Yes, it is JLA (original series) #74. E2 Supes is under the control of Aquarius, a pan-dimensional begin with a hate-on for the JSA. The two Supes fight for several panels and end in stalemate, each passing out as they are too evenly matched. Check Justice League of America Archive vol 9, pp 86-91 (or pp 5-10 of the original comic- September 1969). I hope that helps.

Had E-2's Supes not been mind-controled at the time, the fight would not of been so even. E-2 Supes would've edged out E-1 Supes.
That's odd since we don't yet have an Earth-1 Superman in heroclix. And the Earth-1 Supergirl is way underpowered.
Are you suggesting there's some sort of sexist force behind all of this? A secret society of chauvinistic male's making depowered female clix, whilst at the same time enhancing the female bust line?

You just reminded me of that thread...I'll have to search for it and re-read it because I forgot how it ended. It'd be a good time to re-evaluate them in the Avengers through Crisis Era.

Your perspective is very modern and out of context for the period. Only in the post Kingdom Come/DC 1,000,000 DCU is the notion that Superman's strength is proportionate to his prolonged exposure to solar radiation. In the Silver Age, the newer versions of the Golden Age characters were perceived as more powerful (Green Lantern, Flash, Atom, even the updated Superman and Batman) as they were an outgrowth of the post-atomic era. GA Supes tossed around continents like it was nothing; SA Supes moved planets. The battle between the two Supes was a draw because the powers at DC decided to have it a draw so no fan would be disappointed by their favorite being bested. The great Julie Schwartz loved to string fans along that way- remember the Flash vs. Superman races? How did they end?

Yeah, in other stories, it was clear that the Earth-1 Superman was far more powerful than the Earth-2 Superman. So if they ever make the Earth-1 Superman, he should be better than the Earth-2 Superman. (And if they ever want to make the Earth-1 Supergirl correctly, she should also therefore be more powerful than the Earth-2 Superman.)

As I recall the debate, it shifted towards the power levels of the different Superman versions across the ages and was really about what powers Superman clix should have. As it related to clix, there was no discussion about E-1 and clix.

I believe your thinking of the "DC Comics Presents" Annual from the '80s. DCP was a Superman Team-up book (similar to Batman and "Brave and The Bold" for the later half of its run) and for the annual they decided to do something special and teamed the two Supermen up vs. the Two Luthors (with Ultraman and Alexander Luthor thrown in for good measure). It was the first time we saw Alexander Luthor.
Good story, especially the interaction between Silver and Golden Age Luthors (GA Luthor was a total psycho).
