TIME MASTER: Rip Hunter can use Outwit and Probability Control. The standard and named powers of Rip Hunter and friendly characters adjacent to him can't be countered.
Emphasis is mine.
Time Master is neither a standard power, or a named power. It is a special power and therefore can be outwitted.
Kenny Wisdom is right. That's why my brother in a fit of sneakiness went with this tactic one week.
He wanted to play Devil Dinosaur. He didn't want DD's defence powers outwitted. Unfortunately DD is a duo and therefore unable to be fitted with Fortitude.
So in steps Rip Hunter to be DD's new best friend and walk with him wherever he goes (until new rules when he can start being carried by the giant DD) keeping the dinosaur safe from outwit.
He then sticks Fortitude on Rip, stopping anyone outwitting Time Master, without having Thwart first. And even then they would need three Outwits, one with Thwart to stop Fortitude, then Time Master and finally DD's Invulnerability. And then to cap it all he sticks two cowboys in and goes with a Past theme team.
No, it can't be outwitted, Time Master is still a named power. anything that is a power is a named power.
No you are wrong. Alle standard powers (with the colors) that have a different flavor name are the named powers. It says so in the rules.
All 'white' powers are Special Powers (but they have a name so you don't have to say "I am using my attack Special Power).
Time Master is a Special Power and can be outwitted.
LOSH Rulebook, pages 52-53 named power: A power with a character-specific label in capital letters, followed by the name of a standard power in parentheses.
... special power: A power whose name and effects are explained on a character’s character card and are unique to that character.
... standard power: A power or ability whose effects are described on the powers and abilities card.
Timemaster is a Special Ability, Timemaster only protects Standard and Named powers from outwit. So you can Outwit his Special Powers and Timemaster.
If you couldn't outwit it, Timemaster would have said that you can't outwit any power.
Thanks, just wanted to make sure. The next tourny has a 30 point limit, so i was going to put repulser shield on kc supes, and keep rip hunter beside him, but there is no use for rip hunter now.
