If i roll two doubles on a successfull attack causing knockback, is knockback optional by the attacker? For example, I have a character with flurry and i roll two doubles on my first attack, does the oppossing character gets automatically knocked back, thus preventing me for even doing my second attack?(opposing character not having any power that prevents it from being knocked back) or do I have the option of not doing knock back ?
You have unfortunatelt described the worst case scenario for flurry, if the first attack causes knockback, then you don't get a second attack, unless there were two opposing characters next to your person at the beginning of the attack. your only hope is that after your opponent has charge ater taking damage in which case they would not be knocked back

Just wanted to point out that this is incorrect. Knockback is determined at the time the dice are rolled, before damage is dealt, and it is at that time that the figure needs to have Charge (or some other effect preventing knockback) in order to avoid being knocked back.
of course knockback is optional,
when someone hands you a beverage you can either knock it back or decline......
OH WAIT You mean the game.....no not optional.
A good defense will only last for so long, before you must crush your enemies outright!

hey queb
if the damages are separate wouldn't that mean the damage would come first then the knockback?
seems a little odd to me that if it were determined at the diceroll then the damage would accumulate.
on the other hand if you got blowed up, took damage from the blowing up, then flew backwards. that makes a bit more sense.

The fact that knockback happens is established at the die roll. The distance knocked back is determined at damage taken and then any knockback damage is determined after the knockback movement is applied. Thus upon rolling valid doubles knockback triggers and you check for knockback prevention (Charge, double base, giant, colossal, etc.). You then move forward with damage dealt and into damage taken (where damage reducers take effect). If the target takes damage and is subject to the knockback you apply said damage (i.e. click them) and do the knockback movement. If the knockback movement would cause knockback damage you check for immunity there (i.e. Combat Reflexes). If they are subject to the damage you move on through damage dealt and damage taken, again taking into account damage reducers.
