“Ambush at The Lab”

The Titans left the Brain’s lab satisfied. Raven had managed to heal most of their wounds but this had drained her pretty badly. The empath wouldn’t be ready to teleport for a few minutes so they had left the Brotherhood tied up inside and were going to find a less conspicuous place to wait.

“Well, I’m going to be honest, people. That’s the last place I’d think to look for a super villain.” Arsenal said with a shrug.

“And that’s what makes it such a good…” Nightwing paused. “Hold up.”

The group stopped. They could see figures moving in the darkness. Someone must have been tipped off by the noise or else…

“Merlyn!” Arsenal muttered, just loud enough for his teammates to hear. “I knew we couldn’t trust him.”

“Oh, I don’t know,” Beast Boy chimed in. “Seemed like an upstanding fellow to me. Except for the way he dressed. And the way he talked. And the fact that he was here in a country full of criminals. And that we knew he wanted to kill you from the start.”

“Not helping.”

The Titans made a defensive formation and begun to back away from whomever else was out tonight. Suddenly, a flash of light came down in the middle of them, forcing the group to scatter.

“Aww man.” Beast Boy groaned. “Not this guy again. Doesn’t he ever get tired of getting his butt whipped?”

“Quiet you fool!” the man said, floating down from the sky. “No one insults Dr. Light and lives!”
