When the power suddenly went out, Moondragon knew something was very wrong since the Hulk was standing in the room with her. She didn't need to be a psychic to anticipate the immediate response to the situation.
"Hulk hate darkness! Hulk like seeing!"
Hellstrom perked up suddenly. "This isn't just a power outtage. It feels like.." He suddenly began to laugh. "Demons from Limbo! I knew I recognized the stink. They've probably got a bit of a magical punch, though, so be careful."
"Hulk smash demons! Hulk stronger than magic!"
Daredevil glanced over at Moon Knight. "Magical demons. You ever feel out of your depth in this line of work?"

Stepping from their brightly glowing portal the demonic trio studies their surroundings in the darkness. After a few seconds of silence, the horribly grating voice of N'astirh rings through the darkness. "Why are we here, sorcerer. This locations and the pitiful mortals within it bears no consequence for my plans of conquest. This is a waste of time!"
Belasco glares back at N'astirh, his eyes glowing a dull red in the gloom of the darkened halls. "You should know better than to question me at this point, N'astirh, didn't you learn anything serving under me for all those centuries?"
Barely suppressed magical energies course over N'astirh's body and his rage twists his voice into something even more inhumane. "I learned more than you could ever know sorcerer, and if you push me much further, I might just decide to show you!"
"Some other time, my former servant, some other time!" Belasco brushes off N'astirh's challenge with a wave of his hand. "We are here because my scrying has revealed the presence of an... *associate* of sorts here in this building. Someone who could potentially cause a great upset in your grand schemes if not dealt with in due time, which I believe is now. I am talking, of course, of the Son of Satan."
"If he would dare threaten the will of my Queen..." Meggan cuts in "I'll flay his skin from his living frame and lay it at her feet so she may use it as a rug!"
1) "Very well sorcerer, Hellstrom must not be allowed to interfere and if his deluded friends will stand with him, then they will suffer his fate!" N'astirh unfolds his wings, picks up Belasco and flies into the gloom. N'astirh moves to R18 placing Belasco in Q18

"Hold up, team. Hellstrom, can you give us any more specifics about what we're up against? I don't want to go in there blind."
"Was that a pun, Daredevil? I expected better from you for some reason. In any case, I sense three distinct presences, definitely from Limbo. It feels like Belasco is with them, but his power seems diminished. Limbo is a chaotic place. Maybe his fortunes have fallen for now. But you wanted to know what to expect. Fangs, claws, psychic power, and brain melting incantations. Sum it up enough for you?"
Moon Knight checked his nunchucks. "Daredevil and I can handle fangs and claws. It's the magic that has me worried."
Hellstrom nodded. "I'll run interference as much as possible with Moondragon's help. On the physical plane, they're vulnerable to physical damage. Hulk should be able to work his own brand of magic if you guys can back him up."
Hulk frowned and grunted, "Less talking, more fighting."
"Right, Hulk. Let's get to it, Defenders."

1) "They appear to hesitate, how very disappointing. I had expected more reckless abandon from a pretender to the Infernal Throne" Belasco muses to himself. "Perhabs the whelp is more of a threat than first assumed" With a wave of his hand and a quick incantation a glittering wall of opague magical energy springs into being between the Defenders and the Demons of Limbo. Belasco raises a barrier in P18, P19, Q17 and R16

"Hulk, let's do some demo work, get this place a little more spacious!" Moon Knight ran down the hall, confident that the Hulk would have no problems.
Hulk charged down the hall, gathering momentum. Suddenly, he leapt to his right, crashing though a wall. He had so much fun that he immediately did it again.
Through the gap came Hellstrom, carried by Moondragon's telekinesis. As he came to a landing, he hurled a large statue of Iron Man at Meggan, but the darkness spoiled his aim and he barely missed. The armored Avenger's tribute shattered on the floor. "Talk about bad omens for us heroes..."

1) Moon Knight moves to R11
Avengers) Hulk fires up Speed of A Charging Dreadnaught with a move action. He steps up to O9 and uses his M&A action to break the O8/O9 wall. He steps diagonally through the gap to N8 and uses his Unstoppable action to break the N8/M8 wall. He moves to P11 to end the action.
2) Moondragon TKs Hellstrom to R9
3) Hellstrom tries to throw his HO at Meggan! Shape Change is a 2. Hellstrom lobs the object - 8 vs (16+1) 17. Roll is a (4,4) 8 and the darkness saves Meggan!

"Battle is joined!" N'astirh snarls, "lower your wards sorcerer, and let those of us with a taste for bloodshed indulge in our urges!"
"As you wish" The dark sorcerer smirks, dismissing his magical shield with a single word, just in time for the demonic duo to watch as Meggan hurled herself at Moonknight
1) "You cling to those shadows as if they would save your worthless life!" Meggan snarls, easily locating Moonknight with her inhumanly keen senses. "If it is darkness and shadows you seek, then embrace it fully!" She roars as she charges straight for the Avatar of Konshu! Meggan charges to R12, slashing at Moon Knight (using blades). 9 atk. vs 15 def. Needs a 6. Roll is: (2,2) for a 4 and a miss! (wow, this is a nice start)
2) "Ah, our foe has deigned to show himself, N'astirh, if you would be so kind as to engage him!" Belasco weaves a quick spell and before the Demon Lord can utter an objection he finds himself teleported into the middle of the chamber. Belasco TKs N'astirh to U14 and takes 1 from the push.
3) "Do not..." N'astirh begins but stops himself when he realises he's talking to thin air. Turning his burning eyes on the shadowy form of the Son of Satan he growls menacingly. "Very well Spawn of the Fallen One, let us see how much of your sire's might you truly possess!" N'astirh shoots Hellstrom. 11 atk. vs 16 (+1 from terrain) def. Needs a 6. Roll is: (4,5) for a 9 and a solid hit! Hellstrom takes 3 after toughness. 1 SA for N'astirh and (more importantly!) 1 AST for Belasco (who only needs one more now).
Crackling arcs of magical lightning leaps from N'astirh's outstretched claws to Daimon's chest in the blink of an eye, scouring both the resilient flesh and tainted soul of the Son of Satan with frightening power. The stench of burning meat fills the air, as does the cruel laughter of the demonic Lord of Limbo!

Hulk heard the sound of battle from around the corner, a battle he was not part of! With a primal roar, he burst through the wall and charged past the startled N'astirh, grabbing a large cabinet and swinging it with primal fury. The demon was not so surprised, though, and a simple ward deflected the Hulk's fury.
While the demon's attention was distracted, Matt nodded to Heather, who flung him into the fray with an effort. Using that momentum, Matt flipped right past Meggan, who Moon Knight was ineffectually trying to hold at bay, and planted a baton on the back of the Lord of Limbo's head. There was a crackle and a hiss as the demonic and physical realms interacted, and N'astirh came out the worse for wear. "Guess it takes a devil to fight demons sometimes."
4A) Defenders
Avengers) Hulk uses SoaCD to move 2 squares to Q13 and Unstoppable attacks the wall between Q13 and R13. He moves to V14, grabbing the HO in V12 from U12 as he moves by and swinging it at N'astirh with his M&A attack. (9-2) 7 vs 16. Roll is a (1,3) 4, which misses! The HO is destroyed, and Hulk pushes.
1) Moondragon pushes to TK Daredevil to R13
2) Daredevil uses CCE. He lunges to T15, CCEing N'astirh. 9 vs 16. Roll is a (5,4) 9. Super Senses is [accidentally rolled 2 dice, but they were both a 3 so they would both have failed] 3, and Matt connects for 3 clicks of damage. 1 SA to the Daredevil.
3) Moon Knight pushes to attack Meggan. Shape Change roll is 3, so the attack is a go. 8 vs (16+2) 18. Roll of 7 misses the mark. No push due to WP.

"However, for all his tiresome slobbering boasts and idle threats, his value to me is not quite exhausted yet. As always, I must put work before pleasure it seems!" With an exaggerated sigh, Belasco intones a dire curse, sapping the strength and speed from Daredevil's limbs. Belasco outwits Daredevil's CCE
"Now *Devil* Let's see what you truly fear!" Belasco laughs with a cruel smile as Daredevil weakens to the point where he can barely lift his billy club. Not exactly an enviable situation to find oneself in when you're staring down the maw of an enraged Demon Lord!
