Comics Mega Events changing format- Witch way do you like them?
Latery the Mega Events in Marvel and DC had been changing.
In the past the Events used to touch EVERY or almost every "current" comic book in every Universe.
Crisis on Infinite Earths, Legends, Millinium, Invasion, Civil War, etc.
Now things are changing...
In Marvel look like the events NEVER end. From Civil War we have Planet Hulk and from that to World War Hulk, and after that Secret Invasion and now Dark Reight. Latery looks like EVERY story lead to another story with never an end.
In DC the series are getting "separate" from the series. Events like 52 and now Blackest Night DON'T have many crossovers with the MAIN books, insthead they have specials like "Batman Blackest Night" Titans, etc, and only Green Lantern have crossovers in his collection with the main series.
The question is: how do you like better? what do you think of the changes?
Persoanlly I like the classic format with the main event used to have crossovers with almost ALL books of the Mainstream Universe.
In that way, following a event I could have 1 or 2 number of EVERY current collection, and look all creative teams and all characters who they are in that moment.
Of course the "problem" with this was the checklist of the event. Some crossovers were not very clear to get, and you could be lost without a very good checklist.
Blackest Night will have "specials" like Blackest Night Titans, etc, I would like more if they were crossovers with the main Titans collection for the above reasons, BUT I undestend that the problem is this: when a series is PUSH to follow a main crossover event the "current" plot of EVERY series is interrupted or disturbed. Anyways, I will like that classic format, not matter what.

Blackest Night hasn't listed the crossovers or it's 2nd half yet!
yes, but still. In the past I could meet and enjoy the artists of the current Titans, or Batman or etc in the regular book crossovers. Now I'm not sure if this "specials" will have the same cretive team of the regular series.
But yes, I want to see all the crossovers
speaing of that, how many issues is the min Blackest Night? 6? 7? 8? 10? 12?

A major event happened in the 2099 universe, and there were repurcussions in every title. However, they didn't "cross over" too much (if you only read one title, you'd follow the story in that book just fine) and apart from some one-shots, there wasn't a miniseries that you had to collect.
ok, looks like I was wrong with Blackest Night (and never so happy to be wrong!)
Blackest Night will have "crossovers" with MANY MANY DC tittles. (not only Batman, Titans and GL related, also: Booster Gold, Adventure Comics, Doom Patrol, JLA, Superman/Batman, regular Teen Titans and Outsiders, and how know how many more!).
I'd rather see these mega events being able to be fully understood within just the main series of it but I really think they need one-shots, specials to really make it mega to me.
I dont like when mega events tie in with ongoings though
I'd like them to be meaningful without relying on crutches like "see who we whacked this time" or "look how radical and mindlessly edgy we are".
And I'd like to see them written by people who care about comics not Hollywood schlubs.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.
