CASTLE DOOM MAP RULES

Thick orange lines along the grid of this map are force fields.

When determining if a line is blocked, treat force fields as walls.
However, force fields are not walls or blocking terrain, they can't be destroyed and characters can't move over or through them using any power, ability, or effect (such as phasing/teleport or the Flight ability). Characters on opposite sides of force fields are not adjacent.

When counting squares to determine the range or area of any effect, you can't count beyond a force field. (To determine if you are counting beyond a force field, draw a line from the center of the square where the effect originates, to the square you are attempting to count, if the line goes through a force field or through a diagonal bordered by the grid of the force field, the square can't be counted)

Players must choose starting ares diagonally opposite each other, whenever possible.

Damn I have never played this map. So basically, it's main purpose is to nerf range? Wonderful, as if there wasn't enough range nerfing already

I set up in the edge of the purple area and move out.

"What happened to Kang?" asked Joe, agent of Intergang.

Correct me if Im wrong but grounded figs without LC or Phasing have halfed movement because of the BFC. Correct?

Also, is the squiggly orange stuff outside of the starting zone considered forcefield too?

Correct. The gray dots where the orange line ends, like the one doom landed next to, would be the end of the force field, though note that the dot blocks LOS on the diagonal.


Nah, I think range still comes out on top on this map. It'll just take some maneuvering to realize the advantage.

I will say this combo of map and BFC is one of the toughest I've seen in the leagues. Sorry guys.

I only have two attackers, both of which are long range fliers...

This might be one of those times you want to use your "re-map" or BFC cancelling, BigDaddy.

"X-Men!!! We've been lured into a trap!" Jean Grey screamed at the top of her lungs as the energy field dissapated around them. Instead of being back at their base of operations, they found themselves in a surging tide. "I sense the presence of two others here, but I also sense the absence of one mind. It's like a mind is covered up and shielded from me."

Scott Summers looked over his shoulder at Wolverine. He had little love lost for the Canadian mutant, but Wolverine knew his stuff. "Logan, what does the nose know?"

Wolverine paused, sniffed the air and looked at the rest. "I hope everybody has their insurance paid up, 'cuz I'm smelling an old pal named Dr. Doom and if I'm right, he's brought a heavy hitter with him."

"You mean Doom isn't the heavy hitter?" Angel asked.

"'less I'm missin' the mark, I think there's an Ultron around the corner coming at us."

That definitely got everyone's attention. Cyclops clenched his jaw. I didn't sign UP for this! Since we've gotten here we've been put in one impossible situation after another! I can only lead like this for so long! Still, they are counting on me. Today more than ever. "Storm, Angel...grab somebody. We've gotta get out of this water and onto high ground. Stay focused, X-Men."
