View Poll Results: Do you think we'll see LE cardboard in the future
With the new announcement of Print & Play giving us access to all the Feats/BFCs past, present and possibly future do you believe that we will see LE cardboard in future of Organized Play?
Regardless of how you feel about how OP and P&P is being handled and whether you agree with it or not is not something I wish to explore anymore. Too many other threads.
I want to know: do you still think they're going to give us LE cardboard?
It's pretty much too early to tell, but right now I want to say we won't be seeing LE cardboard. At least I hope we don't see cardboard prize support as the point of LE cardboard has been defeated.
I selected no. But that's as much my wish as my belief. I tend to win a lot at my venue and feats/battlefields/event dials are always a let down. This week I won a squeeker of a sealed game and ended up with an event dial. I wish WizKids would go back to LE figs only; do the feats and bfcs as print and play and get rid of the event dials altogether.
I don't think that there will be LE cardboard like feats or BFCs, but I hope and expect that if they offer a 3-d object or an LE character that we will get the cardboard for that.
I wouldn't have given the possibility that all cardboard would become print and play a second thought, but that is essentially what they are doing with the prize kits sent to venues that were shut out of the initial prize kit offering.
But who would put up with any inconvenience to get a card if they can just print it out themselves and have it?
I mean, if someone wants to show up and play they will show up and play, but I doubt people will pass on a lot of things now that they would have passed on before to get a prize, and if a prize doesn't attract players, then it speaks badly of the game, the prize, or both.
i wish print and play only affected retired feat cards. that way maybe everyone could be happy. i feel like something has been stolen from me. not a big something but still a something.
It's too early to really be certain, but I don't think that print and play will necessarily have as big an effect as people want to think it will.
The biggest issue is that the prices on ebay will lower to more reasonable levels ($20!?!? Screw that, I'm just gonna print it!). People will still want the quality version of the feat... just not necessarily badly enough to go for a booster buy in if they've already bought a brick or more.

That's a strange feeling to have. Your old feats are still there. They still work just like they did before. The only thing that has changed is your perceived value on the secondary market and that's something that constantly changes in this game anyways. To say something has been stolen from you is way over the top.

If collecting/winning "valuable" pieces of cardboard is that important you, have you considered playing Magic?
As fans of a comic book based miniature game why would anybody against Print and Play or attached to Feats or BFC's want to go play Magic instead?? It is the super hero aspect that is appealing us to these cardboard elements, not the paper that they are made on...sheesh...
Heroclix has had cards incorporated into the strategy of this great game for years now, and all of a sudden as of HoT, WizKids has decided not to produce the new Feats or make BFC's available in any official capacity for their fans. Essentially they HAVE robbed us of a quality aspect of our game and in my opinion, those of us who feel that way should not be belittled or told to go play other games just for voicing our concern.
shanbo83 did not mention the secondary market or a desire to leave the game, why would people post replies to him inferring such things? If anything I find the responses to his post as "over the top"...

My sentiments exactly. Feel like I paid a premium for something that is now redundant.
I guess old cardboard elements may have helped we win a few tourneys in the past. But all the effort I went through to secure Warbound, Protected and ICWO now seems for naught...
I wonder if they'll continue to put out cardboard so guys like me who are all thumbs won't have to wound ourselves trying to make halfway decent copies...
boo hooo hoo they've taken my game away...boo hoooo hooo. bfc and feats are add on's. we started this game without them and most of us don't have those twenty five dollar feats and add on's that are flaunted on the board. boo hoo hoooo. this is awesome for us who've gone without them and i for one think its fair for us to use them without the chase and cheese nonsense that came with buying the cardboard. stunning blow for everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Print & Play cards have proved to be quite the little debate amongst the heroclix community haven't they?
Personally, I don't care for P&P. And it has nothing to do with the secondary market, or the fact that WK is so-called "spreading the cardboard wealth" around to any Tom, Dick, & Harry that wants to own the cards. It has the feeling of a "cheapening" of the game to me. And by that I mean that it feels like WK is getting to lazy to bother printing the cards and inserting them into boosters for everyone to have. It's easier for them put them up on the website and let the players do the work. And it's cheaper for them also. What's next? Are the character cards for the future sets going to be P&P?
And another thing, what about the players that don't have internet access or can't print the cards out cause they don't have a printer? Do these players get left out?
I'm voting no. I don't believe cardboard should be handed out as tournament prizes. I think figures and special 3-D objects like Mjolnir, should be tournament prizes.
