I'm still trying to track what the Sentry does; although I'm disappointed with what has become of him via Bendis. I heard that the VOID got himself into some X-Men and is now possessing Cyclops. Can someone point me to the books I need to look up to catch up on this latest WTF?

I think Emma Frost separated the VOID from Sentry, but after that I never heard/read anything further about it.

Emma had installed a back door into Sentry's mind in the second storyline in New Avengers. It was titled "Sentry". In the recent Dark Avengers and X-men crossover named "Utopia", Emma uses this to her advantage when the X-men are faced to fight the Sentry. Knowing that they don't stand a chance, she gets in his head and makes him get scared of the Void and flies off into space incapacitating him. When she exits his mind, she has a sliver of the void inside of her and must stay in diamond form to keep it from doing any harm to her. That's why she has been so cold to Cyclops lately, emotionally, not physically. I guess in the upcoming X-men books she lets the Void sliver out and it gets into the head of Cyclops. I don't know about the Void, but the Sentry got him some new powers thanks to an encounter with Molecule Man in Dark Avengers. He can now control molecules! (and scare the snot outta his Dark Avengers teammates!) Can't wait how they handle that in Heroclix.

So what, he's as powerful as the Celestials now? That potent combo has gotta be awfully close. At least pre-retcon Beyonder type stuff.

Oh, no way. I think you accidentally stumbled on to something by mentioning the Sentry and the Beyonder in the same post. Is it possible they're the same person/being/thing? Of course, all signs are pretty much pointing to the Beyonder being Norman's "muscle", so probably not.


Wasn't there an issue of something recently where the Void pretty much took over completely? I think they've ignored that since then. I think it was during SI.

I remember the Void personality taking over the Sentry and saving his wife from some skrulls. Then I didn't see anything of him until Dark Reign started. I figured the Void was Norman's shadowy figure standing in the door.

Would people who weren't in Secret Wars going to recognize The Beyonder?! I guess they would just retcon that somehow too.

Yeah. Just like most things Sentry they've ignored that. The Sentry returned but his eyes were black like The Void's. It was like their personalities were merged and then, POOF! Everything's back to normal and now his wife has found an alien gun powerful enough to blow his face off and takes off running. Something that powerful should've punched a hole thru a few planets before stopping in the next galaxy.

Cyclops gets possessed by the Void in the latest issue of Uncanny X-Men. It's issue #518 if I remember correctly.

But I don't see what in god's name the Void would want in Cyclops. If it wants power, why not stay in Emma? Her powers are more useful than Scott's.

I have noticed everytime we are about to see something happen with Sentry/Void the next issue it's as if it didn't happen or they totally forget what is going on. and who is the Red Hulk?

Thanks everbody. Why the VOID would want Cyclops I don't know. Perhaps he just needs a warm body to inhabit. To the best of my knowldge he only ever tried to mind control the Kingpin.

Who cares who the Red Hulk is? This Red Hulk nonsense is some of the worst poop I've ever read.

Personally, I'd rather "inhabit" Emma's warm body!!!

Don't really care what happens to Sentry or the Void. Don't get me wrong, I used to like the character, but I realized he's nothing more than a clone of Gladiator (powers-wise, not even worth being called a Superman clone), Captain America (Super-Soldier Serum), Shazam or Hulk (dual persona Jekyll/Hyde, Sentry/Void, weak/strong). Even the Void is a rip-off of the Shadow King!
