Ok, so i am on the search for the best clixers in the country, i (and my friends) are trying to compile a list of venues (or friendly places to play) across America (and possibly Canada) and then after summer semester go on a road trip, or something (trains work too) to all the venues and hopefully end up at Gen Con (or wherever the world championship is held)
We plan on taking a camera and documenting everything (the trip, who we meet, the games we play etc) so theres a good chance that if your venue is one we go to, you will be featured in our film! (and people will be able to associate a face with your avatar) (no more watching 60's batman and thinking "Hey look, Jackasserton!")
i know we have a list on the Realms already, but i am looking specifically for active members on the realms to come forth and give out their venue's info and whether or not they are in support of such an endeavor.
Also, things like "best way to get around" said area will also be helpful, i know i could take the train from my home to South Bend, and then to Chicago area, but from there i dont know the best method to get anywhere!
so the idea here is;
Tell me about your venue
(where its at, what it's like in terms of number of players and how competitive it is (or isnt))
Also any other info you feel essential to tell me would be great too!
Good idea? bad idea?
either way this is step one and i want as much of the community to help out as possible!
Running lists of states/Venues
Upstate NY (3 venues)(maddragon-bluebeard)
Maryland (3 venues) (Venue Featuring Nperb/phantalien and offended gudda!)
New Jersey (bigmac267 and potentially Ben Cheung reigning World Champ)
Illinois (1 venue) (Slvrsr4)

If you're in New York, the state, not the city, you can always stop by Family Hobby & Crafts in Vestal, New York. I'm the judge there. We're a small venue, mainly 4-5 players. We're not much on the competitive side as we play to have fun. You're always welcome to come play.

hes a good man. hes made the trip up to my venue in rochester a few times
speaking of which, you are welcome to come to comics etc in Rochester, NY. we play on sundays at noon, have from 8-10 generally, but occasionally more. a good mix of fun players
I would say that in order to get the best competition in Maryland you can come to Dream Wizards in Rockville, or Family Game Store in Savage.
Why any of these places, fun teams that are also competitive, plus you could play the Heroclix RA.
HEY NOW , us hagerstown guys should get some love on the best compitition in maryland .... one of us (Citizen Kabuto on the realms) one the first Mega game .. and i made it into the finals of 2 of them (lost them both) ... we consistantly played in the top with half our group and any given event .... Im not saying we are better , you guys have some great players (Tony and the guy who beat me with zoom , while i had sinestro bats chase in a sealed event are the only ones that come to mind right now) ...I just want some DAP.
In New Jersey, All In One Collectibles in Denville is a great venue- pretty casual (the worst cheese comes from a particular kid who doesn't really do well usually). The players are all very friendly and the owner has an extremely large collection of Heroclix for sale. Here's the website: www.allinonecollectibles.com
There are games on Wednesday and Saturday- Wednesday follows a swiss style tournament with pre-determined build totals. Saturday is scenario day- on Saturday, players usually bring more than just a single team and make teams when the build total is decided on or announced. The website above has more tournament info.
Depending on where you're coming from (or to) you could take a train to the Mt. Tabor stop. The venue is across the road from the train station next to a hair salon and a Mediterranean restaurant. The train could get you pretty far and you might be able to work something with going in to New York City pretty easily.
Also, Ben Cheung has stopped by All In One a few times (I think he usually plays at another venue, but he is in the area, so you might catch him if you play a few games in Jersey).

We would welcome you all to come to our venue in Naperville, Illinois
It's called Graham Crackers Comics (Named so because the owners last name is Graham)
It's the home office of Illinois' Largest comic book store chain (I believe 9+ Stores)
It is located in the strip mall between 75th Street and Rickert in Naperville.
It's more or less a suburb or Chicago. Best to get to the venue by car. An Amtrak could be taken from Union station in Chicago to get to Naperville, but the venue is about 5+ miles north of the train station.
We are a friendly and open group. We are competitive, but not to the point where it isn't fun for everybody. Theme teams (mostly comic accurate) are the norm at our venue. We usually get about 6 players that are regulars with about 4-6 semi regulars that seem to rotate out. We even boast a GIRL PLAYER (My Wife!) We always play unrestricted, and we post our venue stipulations about a week ahead of time on midwestgames
I'm the player that is most active on the realms, so you wouldn't really be getting any of the realms "Celebrities" by coming here unless you would consider me that. (To which I would be flattered)

my dad lives in naperville! i've been looking for a venue there for a while! (i told him to keep his eyes peeled for a shop, but he lives by the train station and takes it to the city everyday, so he doesnt go into naperville much)
and everyone who's a realms member is a celebrity!! (and will be featured as such in the documentary!)

Well, you better show up here, then. Let me know when you're coming. We might even set up a special stipulation for you and your traveling crew.
