If a character can use the Move and Attack ability whether it be from transporter ability or otherwise, can it break away from somebody and THEN use move and attack? Here is what makes me think no...bolded sections are highlighted by me to show the verbage that makes me think otherwise.
Quote
Give this character a move action when
it is not adjacent to an opposing character. The character can
move through squares adjacent to opposing characters. During its
movement, the character can make one close combat or ranged
combat attack as a free action. The character must be in a square
where it can legally end its movement in order to make the attack.
Modify its attack value by –2 (to a minimum attack value of 1)
for the duration of the attack. The character can use the rest of its
movement after making the attack.
I ask this for the purposes of breaking away and then using the ability to attack somebody else.

The whole adjacency thing there can be confusing. But yes, once you break away feel free to move and attack. Badger your avatar is killing me man!
EDIT: After thinking about this a while longer I disagree with myself. You start out "adjacent" to a foe thus you can't activate the move and attack...break away or not. You still started the action adjacent to an enemy. Someone more knowledgeable than me may jump in, but if this comes up at my venue I would rule it as "no you can't".

Reason: determined I was not correct
I'm not sure it can be done, only because it directly states that the character can't even activate this ability while they're in adjacency. Wouldn't a power or ability normally state that the power helps a character automatically break away? Might want to throw this towards a deputy's way before considering it totally ruled.
In addition, one would have to give an action token to break away, then when it's away from adjacency give it another action to move and attack. Again deputize it to be sure.

I agree. Breaking away is sort of irrelevant; either way, the character begins adjacent to an opposing character (which prevents the character from being given an action to activate M&A). Ending this situation requires moving away somehow using some other action besides one for M&A.
I think TKing the transporter or the opposing fig, or forceblasting the opposing fig with another figure would be the only ways around it. This would free the transporter up to no longer start "adjacent".
if you were to break away you would not be able to use the Move and Attack ability.
You started the move action adjacent to an opposing figure so you were not able to activate the Move and Attack ability.
