In the new issue of dark avengers sentys wife explains his origins to a point. . . pretty much he was a arug addict that stumbled on to a formula during a burglary and got addicted to it

While I don't care much for the Sentry as a character, I still felt they could have done something worthwhile with his past. What they presented though, that he was in the same vein as Moses by borrowing the power of 'God', seemed very ill-conceived. Hopefully this means that one of the real gods running around could somehow take that power away from him. Here's hoping Thor kicks some Sentry butt in the next few months.
Iagree. hope thor beats down sentry. i am very dissapointed by the drug reveal. . . its like xmas and i open my gift and its red hulk or sone other ####

In the first mini he was addicted to his serum as well. The second hinted at an insanity brought on by his addiction. The 3rd made him out to be basicly the Beyonder. I want to see the Sentry take thor's hammer from him and beat him into a pulp. I want to see black VOID like lightning rippling out from every blow. I want the VOID to rip out of Cyclops and turn the mutant Utopia into a pile of rubble.:devious: Yeah going back to the drug thing bugs me too.
so he's a superhero with the power to retcon himself?
sounds like a joe quesada dream come true.
I'm hoping that it will be revealed the Sentry is behind every retcon. He is the flie in the ointment. Then hopefuly the Sentry kills himself and evrything snapps back to "normal". No Spider-Man making deals with evil. No more Red Hulk or Frankencastle or Civil War. Just a panel of Parker getting bit by a radioactive spider and the FF just blasting off into space.
It was already shown that he really was a junkie and the reason why there is a Void is because he also had mental issues/personality disorder. The main thing that Bendis got wrong(no surprise there) is the fact that Bob isn't special. The serum will work for ANYone/EVERYone! THAT's the big secret. That's why they needed to get rid of it if it could do that to a junkie! But now, with all of the Bendis-added biblical implications to Sentry's origins it looks like his S doesn't stand for Superman but, for the Spectre! If he's the plagues/wrath of God then that puts him in the same vein as Eclipso, Spectre and the Living Tribunal.
Superman: "One of these days, Lois....POW!!! Right to the Marvel Universe!"

Frankencastle? I stopped reading all Marvel when Spider-Man sold his soul to the devil... did something happen to the Punisher?

If that's how this ends, I'm done with all but the cosmic marvel titles. I already dropped Punisher because of that FrankenCastle garbage. If they end all this with a Crisis/Dark Tower style ending, that'll be the last straw for me.
I was thinking of a way to save the Sentry yesterday after I had read the latest batch of Avengers-related schlock (which is still pretty good...I am just upset at the shear volume of it).
I just want Marvel and DC to both get back to "normal". The cross-over events are killinig me, each of the publishers, the hobby, and the characters.
