I agree, a major change like that should be posted on the OFFICIAL site. Hcrealms is a damn fine site, but that doesn't change the fact that it is a fan site, and NOT the official site of Wizkids. I played heroclix for several years before i knew that this site existed, and i'm sure that there are many players out there who have played for years and still don't know about it. And it's not like this was a clarification; it was a change to the official rules that had been published by Wizkids up until that time.

The print and play announcement back in early December was one of the biggest game changes to Heroclix in recent years. Is there a reason that it was announced on Hcrealms and not on the Wizkids.com site? I seem to remember reading a post on the Wizkids site that referred to the HOT gallery, and stated that the feats and BFCs from HOT could be printed out and used, but I don't remember seeing an announcement on that site letting the players know about the decision to allow all cardboard to be printed and played.

I ask because there are some players at my local venue that are not very familiar with Hcrealms, but have used the official Wizkidsgames website. They were unaware of the print and play rule until I told them about it, and this was probably a couple of weeks ago. One of them had downloaded the Dec 20th version of the Players Guide from the Wizkids site the following week and pointed out the "Proxies of feats can not be used." wording under the feats section. There have been a lot of posts and announcements on the Wizkids site, but this major one has not been mentioned anywhere to my knowledge.

If some major announcements are going to be made solely on the Hcrealms site, than it might be a good idea to make a link to Hcrealms.com on the mainpage of the Wizkidsgames.com site. It may be assumed that everyone who plays Heroclix is aware and uses Hcrealms but some players are not getting some important information because they are not familiar with it. I started playing right before Clobbering Time was released and I just joined HCRealms in 2007. And I didn't really pay a whole lot of attention to this site until the old Wizkids went out of business, because I got all of the information that I needed from the old Wizkids website. If it is not possible to link this site to the Wizkids site, than I would suggest making major announcements on the Wizkids site as well as this one in the future.

I've been saying this for a while because I'm facing the same situation in my area.

We're not saying that all the new rulings have to be posted on Wizkidgames.com but the Print'n'Play rule pertaining to older sets needs to be posted by Nperp ASAP.

I'm firewalled at work, but I swear there was an actual announcement on the WK site when Print & Play was introduced.

If they bothered to read the Website it even say's when they made nbperp the RA that he would be found at hcrealms.com not sure what else you are looking for.

Hmmm... The fact that the RA can be found at Hcrealms.com has nothing to do with the Wizkids' "Print and Play Announcement" not appearing on their website. There is no posting on the Wizkids site that states "Be sure to check out Hcrealms.com for very important game changes because we are not going to post them here." Besides that reference at the end of Justin's post, doesn't quite equal an easy to find and identify link on the Wizkidsgames.com website.

This is what, the second or third time you are bringing up an issue that something said online isn't in the guide. In these very threads you have agreed that a 60-90 day window is a reasonable time to exist between an online announcement and it showing up in print. I am WELL within your own criteria for this.

I have already posted at least twice the admission that the proxy statement LEFT OVER in the Player's Guide was an accident. I can apologize here again, but frankly, I'm getting tired of it. Not that the topic comes up, ThwartHog, but that it keeps coming up being brought up by you. It's like you either don't pay attention to my response, don't care, or you're looking to appear superior.

As I have stated, the next guide covers the PNP policy. All of the proxy related information is going to be stricken and there will be a paragraph on topic for this.

As for whether it's here or on WK or pojo, as far as I'm concerned is not important. Yes, the WK site is going to be the number one place to go for up to the minute information. But we aren't there now and we were less so a month ago. Can everyone please clap for 20 seconds on behalf of ThwartHog for being the only one of you to notice? To be the only one to care enough to bring it up time and again so that it is always in the forefront of your memories? Fact is, though, he has a huge point -- that's a very significant rules change, and with a lot of new and returning players to the game, the official site is going to be the first place to check for official announcements like that. Best way to shut him up is to mention the new Print & Play policy in every single new post on the official WizKids site.

Dude. My point was that you guys post stuff on the WK site quite frequently. Print and play is not an insignificant change. It's one of the most drastic changes I've ever seen happen in this game. There are lots of players out there who are unaware of it because it was never posted on the official WK site.


My other argument was about online rulings that don't quite match the wording in the official documents, and my opinion on those rulings being enforced before they are updated in the PG.

This post is about important announcements (one in particular) being made on Hcrealms and not on the official Wizkids website. Different issue completely. I also give an example of why this matters.

The original post was asking the question as to why something as major as the print and play ruling was posted on the HCRealms site and not the official WizKids site. Everyone can now play Warbound which is a huge feat that a lot of people want to play. It was an exclusive feat that had to be won or bought at a significant price, now anyone can play it. I understand that the WizKids site is new and they are just getting started so they don't have all the history/information the old site had. It will take time to build it up. They can't list everything on the site right away but it is expected that major news including play information should be posted there. Is HCRealms a subsidy of WizKids? What is HCRealms official connection with WizKids? Its a fan site where the RA can more easily answer questions from the players. I understand the RA can be “found” here but that just means he spends time here and can wade in on ruling disputes brought up on this fan site. It does not mean that all announcements/rulings will be posted on HCRealms in place of the WizKids site. I look to the official game site first then the fan site.

The real reason I'm posting is I can't believe an official representative of a business is responding in such a blatantly sarcastic manner. If you went up to a mall information counter and asked where the StarBucks is would you like the person to give you a sarcastic reply and belittle you even though they have heard that question 20 times a day every day? Costumers who buy a product will not appreciate belittlement by a representative and if they had a choice may choose to go to another company who appreciates customer service. Would a judge give a reply like that at a live tournament in front of kids with parents? Would they be a judge for long with replies like that? In this case silence is the preferred response, roll your eyes, say “not again”, curse, or what ever off-line and don't answer the question if it bothers you. Is this what newbies can expect if they ask a question that's already been asked two or three times before? The post wasn't even directed at anyone yet garnered a specific negative reply. To put this into perspective an official representative made a negative reply to a consumer in public. This wasn't one fan replying to another. As a consumer, I am not impressed if this is how a business' spokesperson represents a product.

And it's entirely possible that Norm didn't have posting access sorted out yet, or some other (unknown to us) reason which made HCR a temporarily better choice.

There's no forum at the "official" game site, so it only makes sense to get official answers here, faster. Furthermore, when HeroClix was idle "official" had nothing to do with it. HCRealms was the ONLY site.

Hrm, I suppose I can see how a post about Print & Play and the details AKA RULES on how it works would have nothing to do with the RULES ARBITRATOR. No wait...I can't.
