Yup in the same boat as you. What is up with these people lately not following through with their trades. I had a feeling he wasn't gonna follow through, so luckily I made a trade for the piece I was getting from him. I was hoping I was wrong but....didn't feel right.
I think we should start giving negatives to people that don't follow through. I've had like a good 7 or 8 people that broke off trades after exchanging addresses or that just disappeared after making the trade. Really annoying....

I am also awaiting melva. Unfortunately my trade is a few weeks old now and by my tracking number he received it on the 19th of last month but I have gotten nothing in return. My itrader was so low when our deal was made that I was sending first for almost every trade. I am often a very sick person so I TRY to give ppl the benefit of the doubt in alot of things as I am not in any way perfect myself. I just would like to as I'm sure everyone else would get our end of the trades.

Guh, it is really annoying when that happens. But if you aren't "out" anything, I think a "Neutral" suffices in that instance. It gives a trader a heads-up without giving them a permanent black-mark on their record, so to speak. I've never backed out of a trade after exchanging addresses myself, but I guess I can imagine an instance where it would seem necessary. Still, I'd certainly do everything in my power to make it right!

Dude, I'm sorry! Hopefully Melva will still come through. I could tell that you're a real professional trader already, and I hope this doesn't scare you off of trading on our site! I've been ripped off four times on this site so far, but I guess I just try to look at it as "the cost of doing business", as sad as that sounds.
Hey, Tanis, out of curiosity, how many times have you gotten burned in your illustrious 895+ transactions? I'm just curious to know if our ratios are similar.
Yeah I know you're not out anything but neutrals don't really seem to deter anybody from trading with them. I know a negative seems a bit much, but there doesn't seem to be anything else that would deter flaking. I mean it's a rule on the realms...you'd think you'd get a little more punished for breaking the rules.
But I do agree there are times when you need to back out. I've never done it, but I have had traders give me reasons to cancel trades and with legitimate ones, I just let it go. No neutrals or anything. It's the ones that cancel the trade with no reason or get a better deal or just never show up again that REALLY bug me. I was even contemplating putting a list of flakes on my sig.
And Tone, by burned...do you mean ripped or flaked?

No it doesn't scare me off of trading necessarily. Back before I got out of clix around ultimates I had over 100 good trades and if I remember right three were bad. I have three trades right now that are taking awhile but I'm still holding out hope. Maybe there's just an extenuating circumstance. I'm hesitant on pulling the bad trader gun and would rather see a resolution if possible. He hasn't been on to read my last pm so hopefully he'll log on soon.

I'd personally be mortified if I got a "Neutral"! But I know what you mean, and I do feel similarly.
Oh, and I meant "ripped". I've lost count of flakey-flakes!

Whoa! Well, welcome back, then! And yeah, I'd keep holding onto hope if I were you. There's a guy here who has owed me $30 since August, ha ha, but I'm still hopin'! Then again, by the time I wind up playing "hardball", it's inevitabley too late.
Well my iTrader rating wouldn't show the ripped trades. But I'd say in my 6 years of trading online, I've been ripped about 4...maybe 5 times. After you get pass the low rating where you have to send first, it lowers the chance of ripping. But I think 3 of those rips were from people that pretty high ratings unfortunately.

I agree with you 100%. I have had many people back out of a trade before and after exchanging addresses. The worst are the ones that do it after either long negotiations or take forever to respond before they finally back out. You end up turning down other offers for the figures you are trading or the ones you think you are getting because you have a deal made. Most of the time when you get back to the other offer after the other guy has backed out it is too late. Neutral isn't enough.

Yup exactly. Or the figures you tied up in that trade could've been towards another trade offer. It just ties up your figs because you're doing the right thing and then you miss out on lots of other opportunities. I do some pretty heavy trade offering and knowing what figures I have to trade. If those figures weren't tied up, I could've made better offers or make more offers to other people.

In the recent fiasco I had with my chase Batman, while I was waiting for the moron to send I had an offer from another guy of 2 chase figures for my one. Had I known then what I know now, I would have done that deal. When I messaged the guy back he had already made a trade for the chase Batman. I think that people that back out and waste your time should get negative feedback. So should the ignorant ones, so that other traders know what kind of person they are dealing with.
I'm really REALLY hoping we're wrong...especially since I traded for Nekron from him. But once he showed me his address, it got me REAL worried. Cuz I remembered the address from someone on mahasamatman's trading site...it's a different apartment number but otherwise the same address. But that address with the Apartment C is a known ripper on mahasamatman's trading site, but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. I've made trades with him twice...under different names. But remembered the address. He of course never sent.
