Goodbye Enhancement, exploit weakness and psychic blast!
I use to play magic competitively, and the thing that I hated most about the game, were "strictly better than" cards.
For example: in Heroclix, having two figures worth the same amount of points, having the same name, same key words, same sculpt, but one has all the abilities of the first, just better stats.
No one would use the first one.
Well - the same thing has happened to the abilities in heroclix!!! And I want an explanation.
If we have outwit - why do I ever want exploit weakness? It is a strictly worse ability. In fact, outwit is over 4 times better because it can nullify any ability (or team ability). Not only that- It is also in the damage spot!
The same goes with psychic blast. Just give me outwit.
---->Way to resolve it? Outwit does not work on defense powers. Done.
What about Enhancement? When I first saw that zatanna had it, i was like "THIS IS SO COOL". And I put her next to green arrow and watched the damage fly!
Then I realized...wait a minute... enhancement is a WORSE than perplex! wtf!
So why....why would I ever want that.
Please keep in mind that I am speaking from a "gaming" point of view, not "flavor". Because - you can make the argument "well war machine shouldn't have outwit... it's not flavorful" . And I would agree. Thus - you see the problem. Wizkids needs to fix or re-adjust some of these powers to stop this horrible over lapping.
(while they are at it - tell them to nurf hypersonic speed)
Let me just put it out there - a team of hypersonic speed and outwit is all you need!
It's not a "better than", it's different. First of all, different powers are costed differently. This should be so obvious it doesn't even need to be said.
Try outwitting an adjacent batman allies damage reducer. You can't do it, but exploit still works. What about if you don't have LoS until you charge? Once again, exploit FTW.
Does outwit work with multiple targets? Psy Blast does.
Enhancement will work on every adjacent character. Perplex doesn't do that. Also, the enhancer doesn't need to have LoF to the attacker at the beginning of an HSS or RS.
There was a Robocop III you know (so don't be racist)
Actually enhancement can work on EVERY adjacent ally that makes a ranged attack so they are about equal in effectiveness. Also pysichic blast and Exploit weakness can be used with running shot/charging around a corner without needing to see the target first. In fact a stealthy invulnerable piece can't be outwitted but it can be effected by exploit weakness. Also don't forget each power has a different point cost so they should (in theory) be balanced.
EDIT: mattminus beat me to the beat down.
However I agree with you that perplex and outwit seem to good. 10 range, free action and very versatile. Prob control too. If I controlled the game they would be limited to the characters range with a minimum of 4. That way the pieces would have more personality and someone like Mandarin with a 12 range could actually outwit the same person he's shooting.
'The game used to be built around many fundamental rules. But there are a number of figures that fly in the face of those rules. Their powers are too all encompassing, and too cheap.' -MegaLotusMan

Also, have a 9 attack and need to hit an 18 defense? Perplex is better than Enhancement because it helps you hit that defense.
I'd like to point out that you can argue that Prob Control is the best power in the game, because with enough of it and 2 or 3 damage pieces, you can win every game, or bring it to a stalemate.
but i bet you can never find someone who is making a balanced team and says "no thanks outwit and perplex, ill take enchantment and exploit". They are just too narrow

So give us this awesome team... and I guarantee you someone can build a team to beat it. That's what's great about this game. Not to mention, no matter how great your team is, if you roll like ####, you're going to lose.

QTF my friend, couldn't have said it better myself

I take Enhancement every time over perplex.
Like today i had 4 enhancers that would do 2 damage each with a power range figure(batman/GreenArrow) that makes BA/GA do 5 damage and then each of the figures can deal out 3-4 each also.
With 4 perplexes it would be 5 damage then 2 damage each.

I've always felt that PC is the most powerful power in the game. Because in the end this game comes down to "Can you hit your opponent and can you opponent hit you". PC gives you a huge advantage as far as both of those questions are concerned.
