Back in January I negotiated a deal with a guy for my chase figure for his chase figure. After the deal was struck I noticed that he had a negative feedback for stealing a chase figure from another trader here. I took a chance since he was sending first. I ended up getting ripped off by this guy in the end. The original thread I created about it can be seen here: http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?t=275270
The guy laid low for awhile after, but was online a lot and has made 5 trades since I gave him the negative. I just saw today that he finally posted another trade thread and he received about 10 offers. Several of which are from well established members and traders here. Maybe it is just me, but regardless of what a trader has to offer I would not deal with someone who ripped off two other members for high end figures. I guess not everyone else thinks the way I do.
Wow, he's ripped 2 people off of Chases, and the mods are still letting him trade here
What does it take to get somebody banned?
Funny thing is, I saw his Trade thread, and I was interested in his SR Green Goblin, so I was going to send him an offer, contingent upon him sending first because of his low iTrader. I didn't even look at his feedback, but I won't bother even trying to trade with him now.
Sorry about your loss Azrael
My general rule of thumb for trading now (with all the scams/rip offs going on) is that they have to have at least 50 iTrader, been a member here on HC Realms for at least a year, and have 1,000+ posts for me to smilusend. I figure if they have gone through all that trouble to build up a reputation, there is much less of a chance that they are looking to rip people off. Most scammers seem to be in it for the 'short' term.
That's just a general guideline, and I adjust it on a case by case basis though.
Trade to Canada. We're friendly, and we love Beavers..........
I've gotta ask; If he was sending 1st, how did you possibly get ripped off?
The worst that should've happened was nothing ever arrived & you count it as wasted time.
Btw, feedback matters to me.
If you have negatives?
If you're ratings higher than mine I don't send an offer. I don't care what you have.
If you're lower than me? I might take a chance. Afterall, you're sending 1st....

The guy said his owl was clumsy but definitely on the way, and could he just pop it through station 9 3/4 or toss it up a chimney.
VOLDEMORT!
PS - I'm actually trying to read over all of this and find out what happened and to whom.
See, I have well over a hundred "extra" uniques, SR's, thousands of REV's/C, UnC, R, and this is why I barely trade and wind up buying most everything I need. Even players with high feedback (or at least more then me) can rip you off.
What few times I have traded it's never been any thing that I can't afford to lose, unless I've traded with that player before.
Let me find the strength to cut back on this game!

Wait, nevermind, don't answer this. I remember reading your earlier post on the subject..... It still makes my brain hurt.
Honestly, I think a lot of people don't really check feedback before sending a PM, especially if they're racing to get in an offer for a sought-after figure.
I have recommended to have a percent good iTrader rating just below the iTrader number, but guess they don't like idea.
I don't think that anybody dislikes your idea (I'd be for it), but the iTrader system is not an intrinsic part of the forum software, so some suggestions are more difficult to implement.
I've only ever traded with one individual with negative feedback and I PMed him or her about it before trading. I was told that the negative rating (which was one out of like 200) was due to an international order that got lost. I believed it, sent first, and was promptly ripped off of like $40 worth of Clix, as were a lot of other people based on that trader's feedback page in the next few weeks.
It's a tough situation: Either give people a break on the assumption that a tiny bit of negative feedback could just be a fluke, and therefore risk being ripped off, or assume that everyone with negative feedback deserves it and possibly unfairly punish good traders.

The Realms had this at one time for like 3-4 weeks and then it disappeared for some reason and never came back

There is no safeguard against a person going rouge all of a sudden after building a large rating. It could happen on any trading or auction sites.
