So now I have to go hunt up a thread that I created in the trading or sale forums to leave feedback? Often times, my trades/deals don't go through a thread. Based on my trade rep, people just hit me up all the time asking if I have X,Y, or Z. In order to leave feedback for those things I have to find some old thread of mine.
And it's even worse if the deal is from somebody elses thread... I then have to hunt up their threads.
Ugh. What an inconvienence.
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.
I agree. I made my first trade in a while recently and couldn't figure out what the heck it was asking for, and since the deal didn't originate in a trade thread it was definitely a pain in the ###.
I agree with you Hair10, but let's not forget the upside: if it slows down those human compost heaps from Brooklyn and Sturgis and prevents them stealing even one Chase figure, I think it's worth it.
(How long have they been preying on new users? Five years?)

I have serious doubts about it slowing anyone down who really is looking to rip someone off.

Agree.
Also not really seeing the point. What's the URL of a trade thread going to provide? A link to "I have:_____, I want:______" followed by variations of "Bump/PM sent"? What use is that?
(The URL of the PM though.....)
I guess if this is the new norm I'll just take to writing down the URL of any trade thread I reply to. (I keep a notebook on the desk anyways) It'll be easier than trying to figure out wich thread I responded to via a search.
I'll also go make a single vague trade thread of my own just so I've got a generic URL of my own if ever needed.
Inconvenient, yes. Anything that helps out with possibly stopping scammers, I'm all for. So it's a wash for me. I'll take the inconvenience to help in anyway possible, even if people think it might not help that much. If it stops one person from getting ripped then it's done more than enough for me to have to take 5 extra minutes out of my time to find the URL and be done with it.
I'm going to start including the URL in the trades/deals I make actually. That way it's right in the PM of the deal. That will cut down on inconvenience a lot.

I actually PM'd Typhon on something similar which was getting a deal done just by clicking someone's H/W button from any random thread and he said they will be working to address that issue.
This new deal on URLs won't stop scammers. People will still find ways to scam around here. All it is really going to stop is people leaving bogus feedback for other people to boost their trade feedback rating.

I always subscribe to my own Trade threads so I can easily find them.

I don't see how it would stop scammers anyway! If they want to scam someone their most likely not going to leave feedback anyway. If anything it actually makes it harder for someone to leave negative feedback on a scammers itrader. And plus now I can't rep even the good traders I deal with at work because I run through a proxy to be able to even get on here and it won't give me the correct URL.
It is just a plain and simple dumb idea. All it does is slow down the trade process and make it more difficult to rep anyone INCLUDING the scammers.
